After recieving some advice fromforummembers, i have up'd the light to 10-300w equivelant CFL's for a total of 39k lumens on an area of about 2 X 2 for one plant. Will this be enough to thicken this plant up. Also using a MG 15-30-15, is this OK? Please don't smash me too hard for the CFL usage...please :) its all I can do for now, thanks for the responses!

well, i knew I'd get some shit for it, but it's an on going project first grow, and i can only drop a little bit of dough at a time. I have a 400w MH/HPS combo system priced out ready for purches to start the next one. Shit, i am just trying to make it happen....damn!

well, the closet is more like 2 X 4 rectangular and about 8 feet high. i have it sectioned off to 2x2 for this one plant.

Not sure where you are getting the "650 watts of CFL".
The 300 watt equivalent CFL would be about 85 "actual" watts each, for a total of 850 watts actual.
And, spreading the coverage from top to bottom, instead of one light source from above. In Rip's 2X2 grow area, I believe these puppies would blow the doors off a single 400 watt HID.

And Rip, Don't fall into the "lumen" trap. A lumen or lux, is a measurement of light intensity as "perceived" by the human eye.
Cannabis needs the red and blue spectrum's, not the intense "white" light as measured by, lumen's or lux.
An example of what I mean would be those red and blue LED grow-light setups, very expensive, but work very well.
Here's a site that explains a lot better than I can, LOL:>>> http://www.superled.net/led-growing-faq.html

Hey...Good luck & good grow to ALL.......BB

Thanks man, just trying to do what i can for my first indoor grow. They are looking VERY good at this stage compared to other CFl grows i have seen, and even better than some HPS's i have seen. Gonna ride this out and see what happens...if it works out for me, I'll do it the same again. i came here looking for advice/constructive critism, but it seems I got more hate than any thing. if it works good for me, I am good. I will SERIOUSLY take in consideration all the comments, but at the end of the day...it's all about me and what I end up with. Thanks ALL for the input. I am switching to HPS for next grow, and I can make the comparionson
then. GOOD GROWING TO ALL

oh, and BOSS...i appreciate the knowledge man, I am learning every day. Thanks!
I did make one "boo-boo", the lights you are using, ARE listed at 65 actual, 300 equiv. Never seen that brand before, but my "GE" 150's are 42 actual. They're great for cloning and winter holdover.
You seem to have the right attitude to be a sucessful grower, I wish you the best of luck........BB

65w x 10 equals 650 do the math the picture of his bulb clearly says 65w where are you getting 85 from nice attempt but u kinda failed bruh ... CFLS BLOW THE DOORS OFF HPS REALLY? u got proof?? if u actually read his posts his closet is bigger than 2x2 so ya

A. I'm sorry YOU didn't notice that I caught my wattage error in the post above, with mea culpa.

B. Under these circumstances, YES, I believe the 10 CFL's WOULD "blow the doors off" a single 400 watt HID, JUST from a coverage
standpoint.

C. I "actually read his post", and it pretty clearly states the closet is 2x4X8, HOWEVER, he is choosing to use a sectioned off 2X2 space.

And once again......Good luck & good grow to ALL.......BB

OK, just trying to give advice is all.. using less wattage and more lumens was my point i mean thats kinda hard to argue with
