dont leave in water creat an airy sponge like mixture for them and put in like peat pots but not the pucks

place a sandwich bag over them and breath in it for c02 that will give you your greenhouse effect
also keep the medium just like damp but not wet and foliage feed them (spary the leaves with water) they soak it in through the leaves

maybe it's not too late.

yeah let your water sit in like a gallon jug for a day to bring the ph down on it because tap water is a little high but if let sit in open air it brings it down but you can just mist the leaves every so often but keep that medium damp not soaking wet it will rot the bottom
