OK...So in less than 24 hours, all 5 seeds sprouted. YAY! I CAREFULLY placed them in peat pellets. I currently have them outside. The temps here are pretty good 82 day/68 night. I wanted to keep them outside until they come up so I have time to re-vamp the cabinet. Will this affect the lil ones if I have them outside then put them in the cabinet under the CFL's? Any suggestions?

I would just throw em in a shelf or closet w a couple cfls on em til ur set ups ready...they don't need alto of light the first few days and seedlings are finiky ...i woulntd wanna swap em in n outside...w cool nights

They look green and healthy. Just remember not to overwater them or not give them any nutes for at least a week or more and they should do fine.

I'm pretty sure I learned my lesson last go around with water....lol

Just misting the soil once maybe twice a day to keep it moist...just enough that when you touch the soil it feels damp but is still fluffy....or should I cut back a little bit?

Yesterday I transplanted 3 jiffy pots into larger containers. As I was doing this, I noticed that the stems were pretty long and they looked like they were starting to stretch... so I buried them up to the leaves. 12 hours later, they are like this:  DSCF1686.jpg

I'm not sure if this is normal growth with this strain (Blue Mystic) or if they need more light because they actually are stretching??? HELP!

Maybe I'm freaking out a lil bit about the whole situation, but since my last posted pic it has been 18 hours or there abouts...

I already replanted about an inch and a half of stem because they looked stretchy...now they are like this. Almost as tall as before....

Is this normal growth?

Please help!

In that tiny space, I would think 250-300 watts would cut it. But ACTUAL watts. I'm, a newbie though, so ... yeah. My veg space is like 3 foot by like another 3 foot and i have 345 watts ACTUAL in dat shizzzz. like 15 (23) watt 5000k cfl's and it seems to be good to go, so far my older plants (about 6-8 wks old) are about a foot in a half ish, maybe more? Just keep em close to the light so there not a scrawnee lil shit with no leaves lol.

I moved the light out of the way to take the pic but I am keeping them about 2" from the plants.

I have (6) 23 watt 5000k cfl's in there currently.

Going to add 6 more this weekend.

They have been replanted once because they looked stretchy. Do they look like they are stretching again?

Quick question...

I know that mounding dirt up around the base of the stem helps strengthen it in certain veggies...can I do this with the girls? Or should I just wait for them to be ready for transplanting and bury them a little bit deeper? Will that have the same effect? :?:

id bury the stems up as quick as u can and try keep the lights a little closer to stop the stretching happening again, im also using cfls like urself have a look at mine i keep the lights about 2 inches from the top of plants, ive attached a cpl pics of my setup, plants, and lights. my cheese plant is 19 days from seed and the smaller Blue lemon thai is 11 days but was stunted a little View attachment 2614008View attachment 2614009photo (3).JPGphoto 3 (2).JPGcfl.JPG300cfl.jpgView attachment 2614014

Thanks for the replies!

I have noticed that they have pretty much stopped the whole stretching process.

I have also abandoned the cabinet...kept having temp. problems. So I now have them in the closet without the cabinet and the temps have stabilized.

Running 82-84* day / 76-78* night. Humidity stays pretty much at 50%...Being in S. FL I don't see a problem with the temps being the way they are...If I were growing outside it would be a whole different story....It's getting to almost 90* every day now. Hello Summer!

QUESTIONS:

I picked this up from a friend that was gonna throw it out since it was just taking up space...is this something I can use/convert instead of the little spiral CFL's? It holds 2 T8's...

Also, Here is the setup that is going on now: (Which gives me a LOT more room than I had before!)

Any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated!

Just noticed this when checking the girls this morning...

only on the first set of leaves...yellowish brown spots in the center of the leaf

using a peat, perlite and vermiculite mix...no nutes...only watering when the medium is dry down about an inch. Have the lights about 2" above...

The one with the twisted leaves is having a hell of a time...my cat decided to taste the greens and took a chunk out of one of the leaves! BAD KITTY!

Any comments/thoughts are welcomed!
