ha ha lol as they say "the plants can feel your love" I was like tht with my first grow as well... it wass the only thing on my mind. With a bit more experience you'll get a feel for it and everything will go as you want it to i'm on my 4th grow now with CFLs and will post some pics when they a bit bigger. they sprouted like 2 days ago. what is ur strain?

So I was watering the plants and inspecting them, saw what appears to be burns of some sort on some of the leaves. Now I'm a little confused, the plants aren't touching the lights (I readjust them every morning so they don't) and I'm not manually feeding any nutes yet. I used Miracle Grow as potting mix which has time released nutes in it. I know there are mixed views on Miracle Grow, but the book I am partially using as a guide (the book was writting by a member of this forum and It's called Buds For Less) had good results with Miracle Grow as the potting mix which is the reason I am using it. I have an oscillating fan running over the plants at all times so I'm wondering if it could possibly be wind burn of some sort. Theres also a bit of discoloration on one of the leaves. I took pics of everything as best I could but the quality of photos from my video camera is shite and the colours are really bright lol.

Edit: The third pic shows the worst of the burns and its a bit more clear the the rest. The 4th picture you can sort of see the discoloration I'm talking about,

when the leaves curl up its usually heat issue but i dnt see ow that cud b... av u got a hygrometer? temps/humidity info??

its not so much concerned about the curling as I am the tiny little burns you can barely see in the picture unless you look hard haha.

pH is approx 6.5
Temp is a little low at around 21-22 degrees celcius
Humidity I can't measure (don't have the appropriate tools) but its pretty low from plain observation.

This grow is done on about as much money as a Large Double Quarter Pounder meal from Maccas

it could be jst wind burn as u sed. u shud try misting once in a while if humidity is too low coz very low humidty and constant wind can strip moisture quicker than it can be replaced easily. a lil mist wont hurt the plant either

Ok I'll do that then, I have a spray bottle I can use to mist them. How often do you suggest? I was thinking once in the morning when I wake up and once before I go to bed, would that be enough?

You should just do it once during mid-day (in plant day lol). if you do it too much the soil will be moist and then you wouldn't know when to water them because the top would look wet, but dry underneath. also, dont do it before lights go out coz it could bring mold.

try that and see if the discolouring stops. also, dont do this during flowering because low humidity is good for flowering.

i dont think its a serious problem tho. unless you see slow growth or rapid discoloring then definitely post in the "plant problem" section.

So I got home from my mates house last night, stoned off my tits, go to have a look at my plants and (might just be me) but they had some considerably good growth since the day before. The kids are really starting to pick up the pace now. More pics tonight hopefully!

Thanks for the advice, the discolouration and everything went away virutally over one night, its pretty rad. I'm still going to mist the plants as you suggested because I feel it would be beneficial.

So took the pics last night but couldn't be fucked uploading them, here they are now! Growth is going awesomely!

They look much better lokking really good! Another thing to keep in mind i noticed soil really wet in every pic maybe
coincidence you want that MG to dry out and slow the nute release. they look good so dont think they are overwatered. will keep my eye on grow.

do not mist your plants ,

i dont know if you have upgraded from that fish tank light you got

but when you mist your plants the water drops that stay on your leaves

can act as a magnifying glass for your light to burn your leaves

if you must mist them do it right when your lights go off so the light wont peirce through them

they can soak it up all they want in the dark ,

im not saying in all cases that - that will happen

im just saying that it can happen...

he's misting coz the humidity is very low... if it wasn't he wouldn't be misting.

how many days in veg from seedling now? and how long you thinking of veggin b4 flowering?

Day 26 today and plants are looking brilliant. Just one small problem, white patches have formed in 3 separate leaves on 3 separate plants. I think I may have overwatered a bit a couple of days ago but I let it dry out before I watered them again after that. It sort of looks like a fungus or mould but can't really tell. Doesn't seem to be spreading so thats a good sign at least. I will try get some pictures later on in the day!

Once again failed with the pictures on time haha. Video camera needs some charging so I haven't even taken them yet. Also my internet is capped so I'm not sure I'll even be able to upload them tonight, but I will try!

good grow bro. I am not too far behind you. Maybe 2 or 3 weeks. I had some white powdery substance on my leaves but that was from the mag sulfate aka epsom salt i fed to my babies when i watered the other day. but great job so far.

Saw some debates about misting... I agree with misting to keep those moisture levels up for now! However when you mist the ones with white spots, mist in a direction away from other plants & leaves.-Don't want to spread anything if it is possibly mold or fungi!
What kind of water are you using to water & mist them with? One possibility is that the white spots could be from your water... Make sure if you're using tap water that you let it sit, I suggest at least 36hrs before using it. Otherwise distilled, or bottled drinking water works well!
Just be VERY careful! If it is some sort of mold, it may look innocent & not spreadying right now, but that shit can spread faster than wildfires in Cali!! I'd suggest moving the one(s) with the spots as far away from any other unaffected ones as possible. & if it spreads, get a plastic bag, carefully put around the affected area & snip away.-The bag prevents the molds/spores from falling or spreading to other leaves while trimming.
