Morning all, have the day off work and the weather is heinous so thought I would do a quick grow diary. Its my first ever grow, I dont really smoke it but thought I would give it a go. Due to space i thought i would choose deep water culture as my grow method. I will post some pictures aswel, and because i dont really know what im doing, any tips or advice would be great. Thanks

The set up, started off with a 600w led light, and 2 containers for growing, one that cost 30 pound and the other homemade for 5.

After a week both seeds of purple bud had sprouted and looking good. Needed a heater as the room gets very cold. It was around 20°. The eagle eyed amongst you may have already spotted a mistake that would come back to haunt me!

At this point i noticed the smaller plant to the right had stopped growing. I noticed the roots were showing signs of root rot so rushed out to buy some silver bullet. I also posted on here to ask the reason why it might have happened.

As you can see a very poorly plant. Unfortunatly this one had to go but thanks to people on here i knew the reason the root system was buggered was due to me not filling the net pot to the top, allowing the roots to be exposed to light. That and the water being too warm.

Another week passed and the soul plant seemed to be doing well. It was now on aqua vega part a and b, with chilled water and 2 air stones. Not long after this i decided to top the plant...

After 1 or 2 nervous weeks the new stems began to grow out.

After this point i left her alone apart from changing the water once a week and checking water PH every other day. She was on 20/4 pretty much the whole time.

Not long after this photo i switched the plant over to flower. I would of loved to let her veg more but due to having the smallest grow tent available, i was told around 12 inches was good. I left her on the veg nutrients for another week after switching to 12/12.

After a week of flower i decided to try and trim some of the leaves off the undergrowth to allow light exposure. Abit annoyed at myself for not staying on top of the trimming but as this was my first grow and only plant, i was apprehensive about stressing her out too much.

After around another 10 days this is how we are looking. Probably a good thing only 1 plant survived as its taking up all the room. Im using cable ties to ever so slightly pull the main stems out and allow more light underneath them. She has been on aqua flores for 2 weeks now and seems to be doing ok. The first white hairs are growing out and despite the carbon filter the place stinks. I will check back in a week.
