First grow, early mistake

Welcome, as you read this is my first grow so I would like to ask up front for all the help you would be willing to give out for free. The strains I'm growing are Dinafem Diesel, Dinafem Cheese and Exodus Cheese. I wanted to have somewhat of a Cheese battle, however, where it stands right now I'll be lucky to get even one plant out of this batch. What I did was start them in peat pellets as you can see and then prematurely decided they had to move. I think I will lose most of them but I bought packs of 5 because I usually mess up a couple times first.

They were like this:

Now they are like this:

I'm using a 400W MH light and my soil is Promix.

Well you've got 3 healthy looking seedlings!!! Be happy about those :)
I'm not sure about the others though, give them time they might bounce back!!!!

You need to bury the fallen over 1's deeper , to prop them up and you need a light fan blowing to strengthen the stems Umbre,
None of them are finished , they will be fine!

400w is a bit heavy for young seedlings , use a CFL for a while.....

next time, leave them in the peat pucks.. just cut it up a bit to allow better rooting but way less shock ot just pluck the puck in a bigger pot. good luck.

I buried the fallen over ones deeper however I couldn't find a fan and I dont have a suitable cfl light. Here's some pics of what it's like now.

I moved the light up a lot, so that it was less intense on the little guys.

To me it looks like you need to water the entire pot, not just in the immediate plant area. The dry soil surrounding your seedlings acts like a sponge and draws what little water there is away from the root.

your 400w will work just fine, just keep it up a little more till they get to be robust little burgers then lower as needed. Just remember if your going 24 straight on hours or 20/4 ... your plant will need a full 2 weeks to transfer over when you go 12/12 and your plant will grow at least another foot.. a lot of beginners way underestemate the extra growning in a tent and run out of room fast.. i even looked at one where the fool chopped off the tops to make them fit... ( 2 weeks into budding).

You have invested in a quality tent , yet you cant buy a 10 buck fan ? cmon Umbre ? a compact cfl's from walmart etc and a light holder and lead is only 5 bucks , i know this i dont even live in USA!!

The 400w is not needed yet and could be classed as overkill , it's up to you and how you wanna grow but get a fan,

Thanks for all the advice. I raised the light up more and I misted the soil around the plants. Can't get a fan until next week and this light is just going to have to do. I can't imagine it would be worse for the plants then a CFL, as long as I keep the distance in check. I'll be posting pics shortly, I just have to feed my dogs.

No it wont be worse fgs ,
A cfl can be hung closer to younger plants without burning them ,
Hanging your 400w light that high is just a waste of power and bulb life,
imagine what you want but asking for advice and not listening is very clever.
i give up,
out.

i agree with the cfl idea as well. That way ur soil wont dry out as fast as well, but its up to you in the end. Your on the right path either way i think clonex was just looking out for you in more ways than one. (light bill, seedling size)

I didnt mean to come across as arrogant, I don't get paid until next Thursday, if I was going to get a CFL and fan it would be then. Sorry, I really just meant that I'm up shit creek for a while and it will just have to do.

They will be fine until then ,
If your on a budget , and it seems you are , a 15 buck outlay will save you a couple weeks of 400w power, your bulb life , plus when you have these flowering , a cfl can be used again to bring on clones or more seedlings .....

so it's best to have one around even for the future, got it. I'll pick one up on Thursday, along with a little fan, a PH meter and some PH down. Thanks again for all the help.

I'm pretty unhappy about having to wait until next week for a fan or some CFL's but it is what it is. I took some nice close-ups of the healthy little sprouts and even some pictures of the unhealthy ones.

Dinafem Diesel, both healthy.

This is a Dinafem Cheese, the other one is only soil still.

A not-so-healthy Exodus Cheese and a healthy one.

I'm going to do my best to keep taking some pics every single day. Thanks for stopping by.
