Hot soil effects? Please explain?
This was fresh soil, out of a bag purchased in October that I only needed a bit out of to transplant an ivy for the wife. Took me a minute to get its ph correct though, mixed with a small amount of worm casings from my yards worm bed and in part by what looks like heavy pine cuttings. Nothing a little baking soda didn't fix . It drains great and retains a decent amount of moisture. The fert content was the minimum I could find - .72, .35, .42 (somewhere close to that tossed the bag cause I prepped my trans pots also) to reduce risk of burn out of the box. I know the tomato fert I'm starting with is hot and a little unbalanced @ 18-18-21 but 1/4 strength caused light burn on first feed. Backed to 1/8th for the past 2 feeds with no more burn and a plant that goes crazy the next day. On the water/feed/water/feed cycle, she really seems to like that so far. Being as it's my first grow I'm always open to suggestions.
Wish I had FF soil, and a hydro store is no a feasible option in extreme rural america
