First grow for me

So this is my first grow, just wanna see what you all think about them
Some of the facts:
All are from seeds.
Got them from a friend of a friend.
Like 5 different strains

Fox Farm soil
5 gallon home depot buckets
32 gallon resevior with pond pump to 1/2 gallon/hour drip on every other day for 30 minutes (about how long it takes for them to start to drain)
Lighting: 1 1000w HPS hortilux and 1 600w hps (got from a friend)
6" exhaust fan about 550 cfm
converted garage 9Lx12wx8.5h
Temps are usually around 78-80, max has been 82 with 100f outside temp

I think thats all.

So just wondering what everyone thinks. Any suggestions are certainly welcome. Im also wondering how much longer i should go until i bud them.

The largest plant is about 24" and i have got about 2 more feet to raise my light. There are so many different strains that im just not sure.

Babbling now so thanks in advance for any feedback.

Thanks Smokiee

how meny wekks are they?
I got them on 6/27 so ive had them for...11 days. They were between 6" and 8" in 4" pots. Rootbound bad. Tall and stringy too. So all of them have at least doubled in size with the larger ones i.e. the ones i transplanted first have about quadrupled.

One little girl i have i got from my own seed. Im so proud of her. She sprouted like a champ when i got her big sisters. (I am being optomistic that they are girls.) She is starting off very nice.

Sounds like you have done your homework, if you are limited for space id get to flowering asap, remember they wont stop growing when flowering starts. If you have big lamps and good space grow monsters lolz.

Very nice. It looks like some sativas in there, so get ready for some tall ass plants. Your little girl from seed has some fat indica type leaves. Looks like you will have some variety to smoke. Godd luck to you.

Looks pretty good. I do see some signs of heat stress. (leaf edges curling up)
It can be tricky growing different strains all at the same time. If you treat them all the same (water & ferts, etc..) be prepared for some to be happier than others. Sativas eat less but drink more than indicas. And like the others said dont let them get too big. Sativas can grow real tall, real fast during flowering. Plan on them tripling in size and flower BEFORE you have 3 times the height left to go.
If you have 9.5 ft height. take off a foot for the light itself. then take 2 feet (distance from light to tops. that leaves 6.5 feet growing height left. so if you plan on them tripling in size, you need to flower at or before 2 ft. this will give you plenty of room and you wont have to worry about plants getting to tall and growing to close to the light and getting burned.
Good luck and happy growing.

Thanks for all the encouraging words. I am going camping next week from sunday through thursday. So i should not wait to bud them until i get back then right? and just do it now?

One other question i had is that my timer for my 1000w ballast is 220 and sometimes doesnt turn it off when it is supposed to. i noticed this when i went in there on accident at 'night' time and the light was still on. I know that this cant be a good thing. Should i just breakdown and go to home depot and buy the $80 timer there are just be done with it? I know in the grand scheme of things it will not be a bad investment. I guess i already know what i need to do im just looking for some validation to give myself (and my wife).

The heat stress was my light was too close to the tops and my fans were too low. Both corrected now.

ill put some pics up when they start to do magical things.

The timer is VERY important! do not skimp in this area. I've seen many a grow ruined by no timer or crappy timer or inconsistant timer. Do whatever you have to, to make sure your light schedule is all good. i would go 12/12 when i got back from camping. that way you are there to make sure the lights are doing what they are supposed to be doing. As a matter a fact I DID go 12/12 after returning from camping last week! LOL so there you have it! Have fun camping!

Can't quite tell by that pic. Could just be a stipule? I think its usually the 6th node (from the bottom) that will show sex 1st. :peace:

Okay so i just got back from camping, i started my flowering from the day i left, 5 days ago, its night time in my room now so i cant go in there too much but i used my green light and looked and measured my plants.
They grew about 12" in height and doubled in girth.
Im happy dont get me wrong. Is this normal.
I also see that my biggest one that i was so proud of seems to have grown some nuts.
I will take some pictures tonight after it dawns in there and let you tell me what you think. Ill also take some pics of the nuts.
Thanks.
By the way camping was a lot of fun.

Sounds fairly normal to me. They grow A LOT when you first go to 12/12. You've taken a good bit of their light away and they grow taller looking for it. And males almost always show 1st. And they seem to stretch a bit more in early flower too.
I wish I could camp year round and only go back to civilization for two weekends a year! LOL
