First Grow Help

If I'm growing outdoors is it as simple as finding a good spot and getting a plot ready, germinating the seeds then planting them, watering every week or so, removing the males when time, and then fertilizing when they get old enough, and then harvesting when trichomes appear?

Correct me where I need help please...

Pictures of naked chicks holding the harvested buds (like "bubble" dancers but with buds) sent in to this site.
