It is in a 4 x 2 x 5 tent in my closet with a 600w hps air cooled reflector, centrifugal fan and carbon filter. The plant on the left is a purple kush x white widow and the one on the right is a g13 haze. These pictures are day 28 of flowering and the purple widow is starting to yellow up pretty bad and curl down on the fan leaves.

Nice are you counting flowering from the day you flipped the lights to 12/12? I have had mine under 12/12 for 51 days i think now and it should be ready for harvest at around day 80 or so I hope so I'm super excited. Yours look nice and bushy though.

Yeah I'm counting flowering from the day I flipped 12 and 12, should I be counting from when I first saw pistils showing up Instead? On the website where I got the seeds it says they should both finish within 8 to 9 weeks of flowering which would mean another 4 to 5 weeks to go.

In picture 3 the plant on the left looks over watered..with the leaves curling like that.. and it looks like they may be getting a little light bleached on the tips.. raise it up a lil and make sure its dry before watering..i would stick my finger in the first few inches of soil..or people that use grow bags you can stick your finger in the bottom drain holes to check moisture content.wet feet is no good! Looks good though for the first!

EDIT: and breeders times are in "perfect conditions"..co2 and everything..its like more of a really general window.lol

Yeah I try to wait until they are bone dry and I water them each the same amount but it seems the one on the left needs a little less for some reason. I'll keep that in mind about the breeders times, I have a microscope that I am using to check on the trichomes so I won't be using the breeders word as gospel.

Thanks for the responses by the way I appreciate you guys taking the time to have a look.

Ive been told you're supposed to count from when the first female signs are there so yeah the pistils is probably the place to count from, I'm new at this too so don't take my word for it but yeah I think thats how your supposed to count it

It was really weird actually, I had them in veg for about 2 months and I went out of town for a couple days and when I came back the one on the left was already showing pistils and It was still on 18 and 6, it must have been stressed or something so I figured I had no choice but to make it 12 and 12 light, and no it isn't supposed to be an autoflower

Oh cool thanks I didn't realize it would show its sex before 12 and 12 but it's good to know!

Huh thats strange maybe they weren't pistils but just stipules then again you probably checked that so I don't know

Stipules are the two spike-like appendages next to the calyx, both male and female plants have them. And yeah if you have the time to veg you can wait until the plant is mature (preflower) and then switch to 12/12..or force flower and switch to 12/12 after your desired veg period. Then theyll show sex after a wk or two in 12/12.

Just curious for my next grow but as soon as I see the preflowering do I have to change it to 12 and 12 immediately Or will it still stay in veg until I change to 12 and 12?

You should be able to keep it in veg until the switch. 12/12 is just to simulate longer nights/shortening days with fall.

I noticed the plant on the left has some leaves curling down and some are yellowing pretty bad, I was using tiger bloom at regular dosage but I stopped and started flushing because I was thinking it might be nitrogen toxicity, any opinions there?

Well since you started flushing..thats why the leaves droop and curl..its wet. What do you use for calmag?..do you remember anything that happened when those leaves were the top? It seems more like an occurence?

I only flushed it once which was the day before this picture and I did that because they were yellowing and curling I was hoping to fix the issue, the only nutrient I have used since it started flowering has been fox farms tiger bloom but as of now I am just using phed water

Edit: when those leaves were on top they were fine but now that they are older they are yellowing and some even just shriveled up, I have found that in the past couple weeks the yellowing has been getting worse

Nice grow. I am still feeding calmag and veg nutrients (high nitrogen) well into the first couple weeks of flower. Then I transition into a 50/50 (veg/bloom) mix maybe week 2 of 12-12. By week 3 of 12-12 comes...its all bloom base nutrients. I find this slow transition, keeps every thing green and healthy throughout most of flower.

Another rookie question, when I water I always water it enough so that there is some run off, I am using soil with a small amount of perlite, is this too much water or should I continue like this?

Nice plants!

Runoff is good. Gets rid of any salt build-up. Go for 20% runoff, based on the amount you water, if watering w/ just water. I like to go for just a small amount of runoff if feeding nutes.
