First grow, how many plants to grow?

My 400W digital ballast HPS/MH conv light will be ariving within a few days and i already have 10 seeds of northern lights from nirvanna. I was wondering for a first time grow in soil how many seeds should i plant. Whats usually a good guideline to follow for a first timer. do i expect to loose one in germ stage and perhaps loose another one in veg stage due to inexperience?

I say germinate 10 of them. As a complete noob I managed 4 out of 10 seeds :) but I have learned so much. Just do not want to see you in the sex phase be disappointed without a female.

I had temp issues, bad soil, and bad water at the start just to name a few problems.

yeah I would say all of them myself.....plus you have to take into consideration you are BOUND(how you like that FDD) to get some males.:hump:
