Hello friends of RIU. This is my first grow and would love the opinions, criticisms, comments and help of you guys.

OK here is m setup. As mentioned im using the 400 watt solar storm by CLW. My tent is the 36x20 generic version of the Yield Lab. Good part is it does have steel connecting corners for support. Helpful cause the S.S. does weigh 25 pounds. My dwc is the 4 bucket 5gallon system by power grow. Im only using 3 of them. I have a 6 inch fan and filter with speed controller by ipower. Two 6 inch fans. One inside the tent for that cool breeze and one at one of the flaps to blow air inside the tent. I also have the HM digital pen for measuring ph.

Im growing 2 ww auto by dinafem and 1 auto wappa by paradise seeds. All have germed and has been put seeds in 5.5 ph rockwool cubes. All have popped and broke through the surface. Made first newbie mistake. One of the ww autos roots were sticking out of the cube. I took some tweezers and pushed it back down. Must have been too rough cause the stem has not been growing. But the leaves have developed. Well see. I have another autowappa
on standby just I case. Another problem im having is with heat. My tent is inside the closet. The back vent is covered by the wall so only have the two side vents. The SS can put out some heat. I put the ducting by one of the sides where heat comes out. Plus I opened a slit in the tent. Tent had got up to 90 degrees but now has settled around 80 to 84 degrees with lights on and 74 to 79 with lights out. So everything stable now.

Check back with you guys in a couple hours. Ill have pics of my setup and of the girls progress.

Click on the little picture of a tree then select what pics you want to upload.
By the way,I wish you all the luck in the world, but if things go pear shaped dont worry about it,get yourself some soil and do it that way, soil is way more forgiving and its good to get some grows under your belt so you know what youre doing and can spot the early signs of deficiencys etc before they fuck your crop.I hope it all goes well for you first time though mate, just wanted to get my 2cs worth in!Peace out brother

I think I got the pics uploaded to my computer now. But not sure. Lets try it. The first two pics are of the ww auto and the last two pics are of the auto wappa. Both plants leaves seem to be curling down.Any idea what this may be from? Im pretty worried about that. But they both are very green and seem to be growing pretty fast. The ww auto is 7 days old today. It has two sets of leaves and about an inch and a half tall. It already has about 5 roots sticking out the rockwool cube. I transferred it to my dwc buckets. The auto wappa is 4 days old, has one set of leaves and is about an inch tall. I have it in rockwool and in the dwc without water. Waiting till it starts to root. Any advice would e greatly appreciated. Im really hoping to be successful my first try. Your help is needed and greatly appreciated. Thanks again DOER and SNOYL.

Nice rig. I wish I was that neat. :) You've make the classic mistake of all Botany. And all of us Budding Botanists do it. Overfeed, Over water.

Get Roots. You didn't get roots. Those containers are way too big for no roots. But, I think you might be able to recover. You have the hydroton.

Can you get coco coir?

I was glad to see you have the seeding in a rockwool cube at least. But, you are pushing her. You need a month more, imo, before you go to where you are. Nothing happened for me for 2 years, until I learned this part.

You know why no one told us? In the cannabis counter culture we inherited all this from, there was never an interest in teaching. But, they didn't want to be "bad people." They told a lot. But, they left out several important steps. Growers sell pot, they don't teach the competition.

- get roots

After you get roots, you will be able to coax them into the water. When I get a rooted clone in rockwool, it is 6" tall.

I still spend 2 weeks rooting them in, before I plant them for top feed, hydro. Rooting trials all in my journal, linked in my Avatar pane.

Hey everybody. A lil update. Last post i was worried about my plants leaves curling over. In a desperate attempt to try something i gave my oldest plant (the ww) 1/5 gh nutrients. Omg the leaves straightened out an it seemed to grow tremendously overnight. Ill post pics tomorrow. It looks so beautiful. The other one(autowappa) is still struggling with leaves that look like rams horns. Hope it makes it. Thinking about dipping it in nutrient solution also but waiting till it gets at least two sets of leaves.

Dam those roots look good. Do you always grow in soil? Considering soil next grow thanks to those pics. Is it an easier grow? Thanks so much for your support bro. You have been a life saver. If i pull at least one plant off wish i could repay you with a joint of it. Lol.

Thanks snoyl and im thinking about taking your advice and using soil for my next grow. Is it easier than hydro. It just seems so much more work with hydro. Ive been a little frustrated with it. Thanks snoyl ill remember you and doer forever. You two helped with my first grow..
