First grow in a dresser, but my plant is yellowing. help!

Okay so my friend and I planted some light of jah seeds a week ago, and they popped out of the dirt a few days ago. They're starting to get big, but they are yellow as shit. I feel like they're gonna die :/ lol. What should I do for them?:?

I have 4 26w, 1 27w, and 1 43w cfls and they are planted in miracle grow dirt. I have just been spraying the soil whenever it gets dry. I don't have anything around the walls for reflection yet, should i just use foil until i can get mylar?
thanks for any help :P

I'm gonna post pics in a few minutes.

Aint no hate'n bro, gotta make do with the room you got. My concern would be the ingredients in that soil. The "Miracle Grow" formula may be a bit intense for seedlings to sprout in..

seedlings shouldn't need any nutes at all. Im pretty sure your miracle grow soil pretty much ruined your seedlings.

that miracle gro soil probably has a slow release formula which means its releasing nutrients/fertilizer all the time. your plants are too young for nutrients. maybe you could transplant them in better soil (with no fertilizer). It might stress them a little bit, but at least they'll survive. Are you PH'ing your water? If you don't have anything to test the ph, I have found that the bottles of water they sell at walmart (called PureLife) have a decent ph level.

You are just spraying the soil. You should water the soil until it runs off through the holes in the bottom of the pots. If you are just spraying the top of the soil, the soil 1/2 inch down is still dry.

yeah, i was thinking about that too. make sure there are drainage holes at the bottom of your pot. you can mist the leaves, but pour water into the pot to make sure theres enough there

Ok, so I how often should I water them? every other day? and you say no nutes at all right now? until when? haha. Sorry for all the lame questions, I just wanna make sure I get it right.

And I knowww the temp is supposed to be around 80, but it's like 90 in the dresser :/ any ideas on heat reduction?

thanks a lot you guys :)

Heft the cup to gauge its weight when it is dry. Now, when you water, only water the plant when it feels like it does when it is dry.

As for heat reduction, at the very least, put in a couple of small fans in there to circulate the air. The best thing you can do is have a fan built in to the top of the dresser to extract the air. At the bottom, you will need at least some slots to allow air to be sucked into the dresser. This second scenario will clear the warm air replacing it with cooler air.

+rep thanks for the tips
Ok so I put another fan in there, and the temp steadied out quite a bit. Other than that I think it's all good now. The babies are starting to grow more leaves, and they're not yelloww. :)

I'll post pics in a few days to keep you guys updated. :joint:

yep Miracle Gro does that to seedlings (too much nutrients), but they should survive. soon as they get healthy looking again and a bit bigger, transplant them into bigger pots and buy PROMIX soil...it has zero nutrients. then when they are about 4-5 weeks old they will start needing nutrients....buy the proper nutrients from a grow store..don't use Miracle Gro dude.
