So this is my first grow in a few years now, also my first post here. I used to be a member of some other forum that seems to have bitten the dust a few years back, but oh well, fresh start. Might as well get right into the grow setup.
I'm using your standard drip feed design with the addition of two T fittings leading to two aeroponic mister heads. A 185GPH pump powers the setup. The drip lines lead to static dripper stakes to give me some control over flow, I'm using the lowest flow setting on each stake due to the ridiculously overpowered pump. The 3 part BC series are my nutes of choice for this grow. Lighting consists of a 175watt metal halide for vegging, to be switched out for my 400watt HPS for flowering.
This is my first grow using feminized seeds. I picked up a ten pack from www.dutch-seeds.com, they have never let me down in the past and once again came through. The main reason why I wanted to get this grow online is because of the awesome success I've had just in the past few days. The seeds arrived in monday, by monday night 6 of them were tucked into some rockwool cubes, soaked with bottled water, and stuck into a plastic bag and sat on top of my tv. In the past germination has taken like 2-5 days for me, normally yielding an 80% or so success rate, but I was quite surprised to see 6 cracked shells with little white wiggly things sticking out the next afternoon! By tuesday night they were put into my grow system and the grow officially commenced.
As of right now all 6 are atleast 1 inch in height and all are showing their 1st set of serrated leaves (dont know the proper botanical term).
From the awesome germination rate and speed, and the already quite quick development of these gals (hopefully gals), I have pretty high hopes for this grow.
Some other random info:
I have about ten gallons of water in the reservoir with a 2tablespoon bc boost to 1 tablespoon bc grow nute mix for this first week to start em off
The room is exactly 2ft by 4ft
with the fan going there isn't any noticable or should I say dangerous heat build up with the 175watter
The door is completely air and light sealed by means of weather stripping and a rubber door sweep
I have plans to add an exhaust fan to vent into my attic by the time they're ready for the 400w HPS
The sweet inuyasha calender keeps me in check with the grow
Comments/questions/feedback/recommendations are all appreciated
