Haven't raised the lights even though they have grown. I kinda wanna burn them just a little(let them grow closer) so I know where the lines go.

A bit high humidity yesterday, 59%.

From today.

Last week I've read alot of what ppl and articles have to say about pruning, defoliating and lollipopping. There is so much contradicting ideas I'm still a bit confused. It's pretty bushy now, leaves are touching and pushing against each other.

I switched to 12/12 on 25th Aug(11 days ago). Switched to flowering nutes 1 week after that.

Considering I'm in flower is this risky, and when is the best time? Read some ppl do it at 21 days.

-Clear out middle(inside) of
the plant where no light reaches to
improve airflow and reduce risk of
mold/bugs.
-Remove lower new growth(branches)
that will be buried deep.

The new growth where its very dense with leaves is not good looking. Very bright and spindly.

Also noticed I still have some clawing. And some older leaves get this pale/yellow colour and edges curling downwards/inwards.

Check out that Thread. It's currently active grows using 3 methods including defo & lollipopping

I'm currently following it myself to get a better understanding on results. I'm currently on my first grow of 5 plants. 1 mother 4 clones. All in soil tho. The hydro is trying to lure me... but I can only take so much info.. and I don't wanna F up. lol

Thx for the link but I've already read it. I'll have another look though if it's still going.

First grow myself I sure know the feeling of don't wanna fuck up. I'm not in Dwc anymore though, doing coco/perlite in hempys. Dwc kicked my ass. U should check it out super easy and u get faster growth as well compared to soil.

For me I dont switch to bloom nutes until 3 weeks into flower. Now heres my thing about the defoliating. Since I make RSO I dont defoliate as much as I used to because I need as much trim as i can get.

I just followed a feed chart of my nutrients which said to do it 1 week after flip.

Why do you do it 3 weeks in?

Would u defoliate if growth were pushing against each other?

I also want all the trim I can get, to make something out of it but not sure what to make. Don't have supplies for anything advanced. Can I just decarb it all and put it in food or do I need to extract it?

From my understanding they plant is transitioning to bloom. So veg feeding is continued until budding actually starts. Then your officially into bloom. Thats what I believe thats why so many people harvest too soon is because newbies myself included tend to count flower weeks after light switch instead of first signs of budding.

2nd I only do so to expose any potential bid sites and bottom uglies.

3rd. I use everclear and regular kitchen ware nothing fancy.

Just fed them.
Figured if I can't remove leaves Im gonna wire some branches around. Spread her about a bit. Filling space better and more air circulation within the canopy. Turned pots 45°, u can tell by the waste lines.

Destroyer,
Your plant look great!
Go back and look at the first pics you posted of them and see how far you have came.
I know you do your research/homework, so you know there is no 'one right way' of doing it.
I have very limited experience, and have never grown the natural style that your are, I have just grown by Scrogging.
Scrogging is a little different of a beast, the horizontal canopy blocks all light, and anything under the screen will not develop into anything worth having. Lollipopping is a common practice in Scrog.
This is the plant that I just finished.

There seems to be two school of thought.
1) Every leaf is a 'solar panel' for the plant, and you need them all.
2) Clear all the leaves that are blocking a potential bud site, buds are what we are after.
And of course, everything between those to extremes.

If you're feeling adventuresome, you could defoliate one plant and leave one alone and see which one produces better for you.
(It would be pretty cool, and a great learning experiment.)

Your grow dude.
Good Luck,
WillieP

I've been making butter mints and caramels, from cannabutter. (and they are amazing)
Really simple with just regular kitchen stuff.
If you're interested I can PM you the info, let me know.

Yeah they have come a long way for sure. Just wanna maximise hah ;)

I absolutely do alot of research but this were a tricky one. Its like u said basically those 2 ideas that goes around in different extent. In my mind I might believe a bit of both.

-U need the solar, and mature leaves makes energy instead of using.
-Light on buds don't grow buds, leaves do.
-Chopping lower new growth/branches will send that energy elsewhere and boost other buds.
-defoliating without a reason (air circulation is one) will not give higher yield.

U know I wanted to try different on each of them for the comparison but they've never been equal in growth from the beginning so I feel the results would be unreliable. Next time around! :)

Fed them again. Still using 75% strength a+b and 25% calmag at around 5.7-6.2 PH. Think they are doing fine and very few leaves that yellow. No reason to up the dose I guess unless they show me a sign. Feel free to look and tell me if u see anything.

I have some unopened bottles of nutrients supposed to be used in combination with the ones currently in use. Do many burn themselves on using these extra nutrients? Gonna try quarter dose and see what happens when time is right.

Rh varies 46-56%.
Min temp were as low as 17,5c at some point, max at 25,5c. Turned up the power on my heater, don't wanna fall under 18c.

Light hitting many tops at 18-20". Will probably stretch even closer until next time.

BTW all 7 clones is doing great! Now I need to make some sort of veg room so I can do perpetual(hah not even finished with my first grow) and never need to buy weed again..

Look like it really liked the stretching. Or, rather the new airflow and light shining through. Flowers growing :D
