Get the light as close as possible to prevent stretching! Also incandescents are terrible
why not try some spiral CFLs? Investing in a cheap DIY CFL set up could really make that month of vegging worth your while, rather than just going with that one incandescent bulb. You could get your plant surrounded in a few CFLs to get great light penetration and it'll grow really dense. If you don't feel like bothering, then carry on..
Also, aside from the month of indoor veg do you have a specific timeline in mind for flowering?
Putting it outside in a month won't induce flowering, in fact it will keep vegging until the natural outdoor light cycle has met the proper conditions (e.g. shorter days ,warmer spectrum from the sun).
