First grow in Prep - Advice needed.

Hello all.

I recently decided I am going to grow about 3-6 plants in my wardrobe space. It is

H x W x L ( Metres)

1.3 x 0.7 x 0.5

More than likely I will be choosing soil because of my budget.

Since im new to growing though I was wondering if anyone would have any advice as to what to buy.

I have a budget of about $100-$200 excluding seeds.

I just want help really with what type of lighting to get. Ventilation etc.

Help will be really appreciated.

The strain I will be growing is Auto AK47 ( Lowlife )
Would I be able to grow 3-6 of these in my space? Also, would a SCROG increase yield in my space with this strain? ANd what about LST with this strain?

I have two problems though. I live in england and the temps arnt all that great. Will the lamp be good enough to provide heat if my wardrobe is well ventilated? Also, will a carbon filter take away the smell of just 5 plants?

Get the light first, get the strongest HID you can afford. HPS will work fine for veg and flower. 400 watt HPS recommended. Once you have a good light then the rest is pretty easy.

Thanks. Was thinking of getting a 600W at first, but judging from what you just said and what I have read, 600 would be to much for my space.

For VEg:
Use lots of CFL 25w with 20/4 cycle. Set bulbs close (2 inch) to plants and ventilate well to keep temp lower than 90f. Use soil. (Peat moss, vermiculite, perlite, earth worm casting and bat guano.)
MOST IMPORTANT: dont overfertilise and cause NUTE BURN. This is common with first timers. Be patient. Grow them till they are 1 ft tall then either fim them, or tie down.

For Bloom, Use 12/12 and use HPS 400. Anything else is a waste of time. Here your budget will not suffice as 400 hps and other equipment will cost you way more than $200. So Id say: INCREASE YOUR BUDGET. Blooming with CFL or fl gives you loose useless bud. LED lights could work but you ll need to either know how to put them together or they are expensive. Bloom for 4-8 weeks.

remember, you will grow again and your next generations will be better. So learn! gain experience and for sure Enjoy growing. Otherwise for all that expense, time and effort and RISK of geting busted, you d be better off buying the bud.

PS strain advice: Somango,Nebula, or Blueberry. They are the conesouer strains. They taste sweet. GOOOD LUCK/

I have found that I should be just able to afford everything for about 260, n the extra $60 aint hard for me to get.

I still think ill get a auto flowerer as well. Oh and another thing, is the auto ak47 just as potent? And still no word about the SCROG ;[

Yer, thats why I was getting a bit confused when other people say it costs more. I can understand how it will and does. But this is my first grow, no point in getting everything to watch it all fail

get a 125w envirolite or t5 lightwing for veg and a 400w hps to flower, forget the scrog with autoflowerers they stay so low it would be a waste of time. the potency is not as good as serious seeds ak47

if you want a good yielding strong smoke get nirvana snow white fems or sensi skunk no 1 fems they are noob proof

Hmm. The Snow white seems a little long for me, thats why im mainly going for auto for simplicity and time. The skunk seems ok though, will check out some grow journals first of it before I consider it.

I think I might just get a lowlife mixed pack though.

So would SOG work with autos? And also, will my 5 plants stink up da house, or should a carbon filter take away the smell since im only growing 5.

And another q ;] Where do you think I should buy seeds.

no i dont think a scrog will work properly with autos as yopu need the veg time to fill the screen.
a carbon filter will stop the smell m8

sog would work with autos but you'd need to buy a lotta fem seeds

Right, I have been researching for hours every day just so I can make sure everything is wrote down n prepped before I even start buying anything.

Last question really though.

I am probably going to grow some kush for my first grow, as I havnt tried this yet and really want to get a nice smoke outa my grow since ive quite fags and now having a 3 month break of weed ;/

I was just thinking, I am probably going to put 6 plants in my closet. 3 different types of kush, 2 seeds of each. Or just 5 of one kush.

Now, would I be able to SCROG these? Or should I just grow them normally and cut off some of the bottom branches so I get one big fat cola? ( Apologies if that aint correct ).

And also, what kushs would you reccommend? Obviously not being to expensive.
