First grow! Leaves curling a little & looking a little fried.

So this is my first grow. Growing in a rubbermaid box with 2- 23 watt natural light and 2- 26 watt daylight lights. In a decent sized planting pot with Sta Green soil. Watered about every other day only if the soil seems to be super dry. Lights have been on 24 hours. It is a Paradise Pandora Autoflower. I do believe it is a female also. It's 25 days old today. About 3 days ago I discovered there was mold in the dirt. Scooped it out and put a fan in the box and have not had that problem return but now the leaves are starting to curl and looking kinda fried. Not the whole leaf but just parts of it! I havent used any nutes yet. Any info, comments or suggestions will be SUPER helpful!!

Well, to be honest I really have no advice on this issue other than if there was mold in the soil, you may want to flush the soil. An wait a day or so to see if that clears the issue up. I don't see anything that is gonna kill her with any degree of quickness.

I have a question for you. I see you joined RIU 2 1/2 years ago. Why did it take so long to post?

Anyway Good Luck, Happy Holidays and + rep for taking the leap into farming.

1. How exactly do I flush the plant?

2. I visited along time ago and signed up so I could look at the pictures. I came across this website again and tried to sign up but... I already had an account lol

Just run water through it. And make sure it drains. A good rule of thumb is to use 2-3 times the water as you have soil.

Could it be caused by a nutrient deficiency? Or are the nutes in the soil enough for the plant? The plant doesn't look severely damaged just like its either suffering maybe from the mold or missing out on some nutes, or being burned by the lights but I've read that autos are good on 24 hour lighting.

Which Sta Green are you using? ALSO, IMHO I don't really see the benfit to a 24 hour cycle for any plant auto or not. I really don't think they are gonna use the extra energy and they need some resting time. Yes you can produce budz etc with the 24 hour cycle with an auto but again. Everything in nature needs time to rest. Again just my opinion.

Sta Green All Purpose Potting Mix with Fertilizer.

Would it be better on a 20/4 or 18/6?
Not really worried about how much it's going to produce just really want to make sure she lives to produce something good haha!

Does it look good for a 25 day auto? Anyone have any experience or heard anything about Pandora?

Actually, I just looke at the Lowe's site and no matter what soil it is all Sta green stuff has time release nutes in it. Not much diff from Miracle Grow. A lot of growers are very down on this type of stuff so you may get some other input telling you how crappy it is for our fave plant. My buddy grows exclusively in MG and he has some nice plants. Bottom line, I doubt there is a nute deficiency. If you are planning on transplanting you may want too add some inert perlite to your mix. You will have to go to a regular nursery to get it though. Lowes. Wal-MArt, Home Depot all the commercial stores are gonna sell pretty much nothing but Miracle Grow or Scott's etc and all their stuff has nutes in it.

I have never grown any auto so I have no info on that strain at all. I would go with 18/6

The Sta green, MG type of stuff really has a lot of nutes for an auto. The curling is IMHO likely from a nute overage rather then deficiency. The flush should help that. If you are gonna continue to use that type of stuff especially with an auto you probably want to flush the stuff prior to putting your seeds in the medium. I would however highly suggest getting a better soil. The Fox Farms products are the most used and suggested products I have seen on this and most of the other growing forums. If you go to their web site you can find a retailer near you, HOPEFULLY. It is more expensive, probably twice the price of the Sta Green or MG. But, definately worth the extra cost.

Thank you so much for your help!! There's a gardening store around where I live that sells Fox Farm. Is it possible to switch now that it's already planted or should I just wait til I start my next seed to switch?

I would probably wait to start your next grow in the FF. Also I suggest the Happy Frog soil mix. IMHO the Ocean Forest while highly praised and used is too hot for seedlings and may cause problems with auto strains.

One last suggestion, do a lot of research and studying. The sticky posts here have tons of great info. Also, there are a bunch of great how to videos on you tube, as well as HighTimes.com I like many others her on RIU are always willing to help. But the best experience you will get is by hands on and doing it yourself.

bro whats the ph balance of the water youre feeding your plant?and your plant is old enough to start getting nuets but start em off at 1/4 the strength recommended

So after reading and reading and reading and looking at threads and pictures and what not I actually think I have over watered her which in turn is causing the soil to release to many nutes maybe? After I took the picture earlier tonight her leaves are drooping even more. So if I have over watered her is there anything I can do besides turning the temp up in my room and increasing air flow? Or do I just have to wait patiently for the soil to dry out? Is it still a good idea to flush even if she's over watered?

well that could be a problem also you need to get one go to a hydroponic store and get some cheap ph testing strips your ph should be between 5.3-6.3 no higher than 6.4 my plant looked like that when my ph was off

I don't think you should be adding nutes if there is already slow-release nutes in soil. In pics the leaves haves some darkened (grayish)areas. Is prb heat-stress from doing 24hr, but w/ mold evident on soil, I would keep an eye on it. I know it's been said a million times here, but make sure your soil dries out thoroughly, then water thoroughly with at least 10% run-off.

You can transplant to bigger pot, she needs to dry out a lil, and no flushing the soil that has nutes all ready as it will just put more out for the plant
