What kind of difference are you seeing between the two?

The infinite flexibility, improved efficiency, and 5 year warranty are what originally sold me. With the modular frame that I built, diffusers and reflectors that pop on & off which came with the timber kit and the reputation that the CXB3590s have, it really just makes a lot of sense for me.

From a growth standpoint, I'm too inexperienced to say just yet. They are growing over an inch a day with tight node spacing, new shoots reach for the light with vigor (at least that's what I'd like to think). With the exception of that one king kush whose had a rough time from sprout, they seem to be rocking along.

What I've figured out on lighting its: intensity\spectrum× penetration\deleviry×power/wattage =how you figure what you want for lighting at least this is the overall conclusion. And then you have environment aka how well the plant uses the light and of course the hardest part at least for me was how much can I spend and not wake up in the morning with my wiener glued to my stomach lol. I'm hybrid lighting with 184tw of CFL half 2000k and 5000k 8 bulbs total + viper 450

Well, woke up this morning to find these light green spots on a few of the lower leaves spanning multiple strains. I think it is finally time to introduce some nutes. Going to go with a dose of Cal-Mag PLUS (2-0-0) along with a 1/3 dose of FF GrowBig. Will check/log PPM. Humidity seems to be in check now that the dehumidifier is in place. Logging ml values for future use.

Ok PPM came out to 588 with the above.

Popped in the ledil angelina 90° reflectors. Loving how easy it is to modify these DIY kits. It also came with diffusers as well however Dan (at timber) recommended that I run just the reflectors given my parameters and longer term goals. I was pretty surprised at the difference, the entire upper portion of the tent turned far far darker once all were popped in.

Dealing with a pretty rapidly deteriorating issue that seems to have slowed over the last 18 or so hours. Created a thread here: https://www.rollitup.org/t/please-help-rapid-deterioration-on-lower-leaves-light-spots-w-black-edges.918316/. Initially thought it was nute water splash but after a testing a shaded fan leaf, I couldn't replicate the issue. Still no firm idea what is happening.

On another note, I pulled one of the leaves from the king kush I had pulled from the tent. Still looking as if someone clear coated some of the leaves. Anyhow, I viewed a leaf under my 45x glass outside of the tent and I was able to see some type of bubbles. I think it might be some type of russet or broad mite. I can't see anything moving at all and the only clue here is the glossy leaves. I'm still pretty much at a loss. None of the other plants in the tent are showing signs (outside of the above issue)

Day 26. The girls seem to be doing great. All are very dense but I think the remaining king kush is beginning to hit her stretch. Of the 3 strains, the king kush is the fastest. I ended up raising the other 4 on plastic boxes so their canopies are even. The one in front and center was being blown too hard on which is why she's looking kind of disheveled. Last watering I have them 1/3 dose of grow big and a 1/2 dose of advanced nutrients ancient earth. PPM including water was 621.

Next watering I'm going to shift to 1/2 dose of grow big.

Took a closer look at them after their dark period today and every single plant spanning 3 strains is popping out pistils. I'm not sure if I should even bother with more grow big or shift to flower nutes next water. Created this post to find out. Here are some close-ups.

Watered with a 1/3 dose of tiger bloom and 1/2 dose of big bloom. PH dropped from 6.3 to 5.4 after adding the nutes! Holy shit. At that rate I'd hit something like 4.0 with full doses... I raised it back up to roughly 6.4 w/ PH up. PPMs were a modest 512. The plants are doing great. The amount of total pistils and lengths of each have increased dramatically.

With the exception of a single 1/3 feeding of grow big and a dose of Cal Mag, the Fox Farm ocean forrest soil was enough to carry these plants into flower. I now fully appreciate the need for caution when dealing with hot soils like this. I would have never thought they could go this long without anything extra. Glad I didn't get itchy trigger nute finger and burn them all early on. Thanks RIU.

Day 28 and growth is exploding. I can't believe how far they've come.

This watering I went with a 3/4 dose of tiger bloom and 1/4 dose of big bloom. PH shot down to battery acid at high 4's. Raised it to 6.4, PPM came it at 961 making this by far the strongest dose these girls have seen. I'm having to water every 72 hours at this point so I think I might go with straight PH'd water next round. Will post a few pics later today, the plants are continuing to kick ass. The bud sites have begun to cluster and clump. Not sure what the actual term is but yeah, pretty awesome.

Tiger bloom, Grow Big, and Cal Mag have iron but the thing is I've barely used them. Per everyone's advice regarding hot FFOC soil and @Olive Drab Green straight up saying wait till day 21, I've done exactly that and they have been rocking along. I would have certainly nuked them by now left to my own haha. Anyhow, today was only the 4th feeding ever so despite the above all having iron do you think they might still need additional iron supplementation? The frequency break-down applied (in order) is as follows:

All at half or below strength except for today's 3/4 dose of TB

Cal Mag Plus - Applied Once
Grow Big - Applied Once (with 1/4 dose of big bloom)
Timber Bloom - Applied Twice (with 1/4 dose of big bloom)

Lights are back on, sweet.

Keep watching them my base has ffof in it but this time it is a composted remix.

My situation is this - last run no visible iron issue, funny thing though water department had an issue with a substation and stirred a bunch of sediment into the system. Water actually had a brown tint at times. This time I am seeing what I think is an iron issue.

Gotcha, I've got filtered well water, almost too damn filtered. PPM coming in from the house 5-micron filter is like 60, at my sink where we have our kinetico filter it's 7... This kind of snuck up on me because I figured since it was well water, I shouldn't need cal/mag/iron/etc. supplementation. I didn't realize until after I got a cheap PPM meter that I was stripping it all back out before it hit my water jugs anyhow hah.

I don't want to push you but I'd be currious if you see a difference in uptake of toe minerals in well water vs. the suppliments. Of corse this is a moot point if your water isn't safe pre-filter.

I'd be shocked if uptake wasn't superior straight from the well but the way our system is setup even our exterior faucet water hits the 5 micron filter before going out. Some pre-filter PVC is exposed in the garage and this has me thinking... It wouldn't be too much trouble to tie in a pre-filter spigot out there. Much less than the cost of the nutes to put back what we are taking out.

System flow goes:

Well >> 5 Micron whole house filter >> Whole house soda ash injection system to raise PH from 4.6 on average to nearly 7. From there the rest of the house gets the feed however in the kitchen we have a kinetico system which then strips back out the soda ash resulting in 4.8-ish water. All of this is because of the extremely low acidity here. It eats the pipes, the filtering was more of an add-on. Ultimately though the water is indeed safe here. I'd have to PH up the water straight from the ground but I bet the plants would love it.
