Indoor Room Grow
Medium : Soil
PH : 6.5
Temperature : 76 - 86 degrees
Light Source : 3 x 65w CFL spirals
1 x 150w HPS
Using the CFL about 4" above the seedling and the HPS 12" away
1 x 400w MH
Going to use the MH when I see some more development in the plant since it
seemed that its' growth slowed down drastically.:-(

I used the paper towel method for the seeds, all 3 germinated fine. My lighting was 18/6 for the first 10 days from sprout but I read somewhere that 24/0 would be faster. I noticed that two of my seedlings were somewhat lime green or in a lighter shade of green than the other one. Im not sure why this is so, can anyone help me out? Growth also seemed to stop and taking too long. I mist the seedlings once a day and no nutes have been given yet. I water with distilled water every 2 - 3 days depending on the soil. They look healthy but I don't know why the first days of growth were very fast then slowed down. I am also comparing my seedling to others and mine seemed to be tiny compared to the others. Leaves are looking up forming a v-shape. Here are the pictures, I hope someone can help me with this since it was hard to get these seeds to my country. Thanks!

**In the pics, they seem yellowish due to the lighting but more green when in normal light. The only thing I'm concerned of with the color is the other seedling has a darker shade of green**

**These pictures are 14 days after the seeds sprouted.**

oh oh, I grew out a few of these babies...

this strain in particular is actually the strain that I grew during my very first virgin grow.

i would give you some pointers for this strain, but I can't for the life of me remember the specifics.. such as rather or not she's sensitive to nutrients or what-not.

Just to be safe, don't go overboard with the feedings. That's about the only advice I could give.

Other than that, your coming along quite nicely.. considering she's still in seedling stage that is of course important to remember.

Good luck.

peace.

I have 2 Lemon Skunk monsters growing now. 1 is about 7 feet tall and very bushy (indoors) the other about 6 feet tall. Just kicked back the lights to 12/12 so should see some buds in about 10-14 days. I have 2 things you should know. 1: these girls are a little sensitive to lots of nutes. You will see bear claw leaves appear if she is getting too much......if so just give it straight water for a few days and the leaves will straighten back out. Another thing I noticed is it is not a super hearty plant. In particular if you let the soil get too dry the plant will stress easily and fast. Rusty looking fungus blotches on leaves will come on fast or other types of plagues if this girl is not balanced properly. So that is everything I have noticed to date. Will try to put a picture up on your thread tomorrow.

Thank you sir, i'll keep those advise in mind! I'll keep updating on their progress. I've shifted my schedule back to 18/6 and hopefully they would grow faster. Do you think that putting up my MH would be better, or just keep the CFL's and HPS first?

Thank you for your advice GreenIce! Do you think I should mist the top soil as not to crust the top or should I mist the plant leaves? Sorry for asking a lot, this is my first grow and I really want to grow it like a monster. I have unlimited space so any advice growing these would be very fruitful! The only problem is the sources of brands of soil and fertilizers here since most are local. Thanks again!

Dude the drastic slow down is due to lack of water IMO. Soil looks very dry and it looks as though the leaves are already turning that orange/rust color in some areas. This is dead give away the plant is in stress. I would soak all of them asap. If you doubt my advice just soak 1 and watch what happens to that one. Once you get them good and wet you should see a growth spurt in 3-6 days after stress gets under control.

I would not mist the leaves.....that will allow the plant to absorb from leaves and slow down root growth. In time if you continue to mist leaves you will have photosynthetic shock which is caused by wet leaves getting magnified light (due to water) and thus burning the leaves. Instead do not even get the leaves wet....force the plant to grow roots and soak the soil well. Make sure your soil is light and fluffy which it looks as though it is. Also make sure your extra water can drain at bottom of pots. When excess water drains DO NOT let the plant soak in the pool for more then 10-15 minutes (This will over water and drown the roots). Instead just remove the extra water after it has a chance to drain from the plant pots. If you have not giving any nutrients yet I would look for a very mild fertilizer to use. I recommend "BIG BLOOM" made by Foxfarm and totally organic which is a lot easier on the plant then some of the synthetic stuff out there.

Copy, thanks for your help! I'll be checking it out, I hope they ship to my country, if ever they don't, what would be a good alternative?

Add the nutes asap. Very important to add a very mild nutrient solution. The dark stems you have represent a dying stock. Guarantee it is due to lack of water and nutes. You can save them but just make sure if you cant get your hands on that foxfarm stuff that you find something very mild. For now a layer of composted manure would do the trick. After laying down a layer water it so the nutes get to the roots. Dont worry about burying the stock it will eventually start sprouting roots off the buried stem.

I would actually mix the composted manure with some of the pro mix or whatever it is you are currently using for medium so it does not get too much manure and possibly burn the plant.

Did your advice for 2 of them, hopefully they all do well, thanks!

Two of them seemed to simmer down from the V shape, hopefully that's a good sign, I think I got my roots underdeveloped from underwatering, ill update in a day or two how they're doing.. hopefully they're not dying...do you think the 400w MH would help?

No don't give them the 400w yet. It is not a light problem you have it is a root system problem you have like you said. Once your roots catch up you will see the vegetation take off. If you add the 400w now it will be too much for the plants to support that kind of light and it will only worsen things.

Hi guys, here are my babies now! I switched from 24/0 to 18/6 and it worked great. Growth is much faster now. I just dont know when to use my 400w MH for my babies, anyone? After my observations, I think the yellowing was from nute deficiency. I added 1/4 strength of nutes to my watering and 1/2 strength of "SUPERTHRIVE" and after about 5 days, they began to flourish green with growth of new sets of leaves! It's just wierd as all conditions are equal, one of them looks like a dwarf compared to the other two..anyway, here are the pictures..thanks for those who helped:weed: Some appear yellowish due to the 70w HPS, ill take more pictures with just the CFL's..

Once the plants are more than a week old, I would start misting them heavily with pure water, 1-3 times daily, but letting them dry out completely between mistings.
Make sure you have a fan pointed on them.

Do this up until flowering.
And there wouldn't be a problem misting plants for the first week or so of flowering.
Good luck.
