Sweet ...... I'm growing lemon skunk to but only 25 days into veg. Mind if I ask a few questions?

1) do u find it to be a little on the sensitive side? Ex....dosnt like heavy feeding, over/underwatering,mild stress
2) how would you rate your smell (even thou u only 3 weeks in)

Thanks-
*Punk*
My lemon skunk ladies started out like they were sensitive but are now acting like they want more nutes. The first sign of stress and they stretched quite a bit and have had these bear claws coming from everywhere. 5 weeks into flower and they seem to be kicking into gear, finally.

The smell my lemon skunk girls gave off as clones was SUPER skunky. So skunky that they stunk up my entire house the first few weeks. Now that skunk smell is completely GONE and all that's left is a sweet lemony citrus smell. I want to eat them and smoke them now... but I must wait!

ru4r34l, your girls are looking real good. It doesn't look like you have any bear claw action going on so whatever you're doing, you're doing it right. My LS girls started bear clawing about 4-5 weeks ago. They have been straightening out over the last 1-2 weeks though. I think they're begging me for more nutes but I'm always afraid of over feeding...

Keep it up, things are looking great :)

Not a plant update but better (for me )

As I arrived home from work I was greeted at the door by my beautiful wife with September's High Times issue in hand, now here is where it gets good. We had been in discussions earlier in the week about grow boxes and if we should invest in one, and now here she was quite excited to let me know that the High Times had a 25 best buy article relating to grow boxes, and other grow related things and she is taking the lead on researching which grow box is best for us.

Not only was she excited to research grow boxes she also had another surprise for me, she wanted me to be able to have my medicine while on the go so she got me:

That's right! Magic Flight Launch Box, I have not loaded it up yet but I assume before the weekend is out me and my little magic box will have been intimate with each other , and my wife made sure to let me know that this weekend I can thank her any way I wish for her gifts and being the best wife on the planet. :hump: What a Friday night!

Been gone for a week, and I have 20 subscriptions to catch up on. Mind telling me what I missed so I don't have to read many pages?

No more stretching, buds are coming along nicely. I also got a magic flight box. I have some pictures from this weekends reservoir change that I will be posting when time allows.

Also added Overdrive to feeding schedule.

Read the whole thread and I must say that the ladies are coming along very nicely? any recent pics? I have the same bubbleponics setup with the 6 port tube pump...I now use that setup for clones because I was worried about running 6 full sized plants in such a small surface area. You might want to try using individual 5 gal buckets for each plant, gives the quickly growing roots much more room to thrive. To avoid the early stage stretching you know you can keep your cfls as close as a few inches due to their low heat output.
Looks like my lemon skunk pheno may be the short bushy strain...Previous to this grow I was using soil with sativas and they would get 4 feet tall in one instance..I have found that with what space I have Id be better suited to growing short , high yield bushy indicas..
Your grow looks awesome and I cant wait to see more pics....keep it up..subbed and +rep my brotha!!!

I saw the lunchbox, looks sick.
Couldn't zoom in though.
Let's get some bodyshots and group shots. Closeups drive me nuts.

Dirty, I would love to have you along for the Lemon Skunk discussion in my journal.

I would love to have that short bushy strain you got, I am deciding what will be next and I think I am going to go with SCRoG and another set of Lemon Skunk. In the back of my grow there is a lovely lady that has stayed fairly short and has the biggest cola and buds, and I have three clones from her.

I am trying to keep them small and bushy for another 2 - 3 weeks as they are in a power grower unit.

Thanks for stopping by.

Keep tying down the tops on those clones until they bush out. Try to avoid cutting them at all if you can.
If new branches stick out above the rest, LST them.
If you really must, top it, but try to cut off the very smallest tip so as not to harm the plant much.

Agreed - I've found that the trick is to know when the plant is 'going through' or 'about to go through' it's growth spurt(s), and be vigilant with LST specifically during those periods. I avoid topping as well, as it will cause a bit of stress to the plant - actually, some strains won't show stress while some will show slowed growth after topping.

Personally, I LST once the plant looks strong enough to handle it, then do major 'supercropping' (pinching and twisting of open stem sections about 5-6 inches from the tops) about 2-3 weeks into flower in order to get thicker buds later on... this has worked over and over for me. :leaf:

My next grow I will certainly being a lot of LST with SCRoG. I went through your water-farm TD thread and all I have to say is WOW very impressive. I have a GH Power grower with a nice small Lemon Skunk clone that I took earlier, and it turns out the clone is from the dense shorter plant in the back of my grow so I am hoping in another six weeks or so I will start to LST her under a screen.

High all,

Just a quick update
I have had to back off on the PPM levels as I was getting some burning, here are a couple of pictures taken early this morning.

I also got good news in that I will be able to start my SCRoG grow immediately after I have harvested and cleaned up the grow room, I need to finish my SCRoG cage and I will be ready to start my Lemon Skunk clone under some LST.

Fat buds, what a surprise.
Last time I saw them was in early stretch.

Looks great, how long were they vegged?

They were vegetating for 52 days.

Here are a bunch of pictures I snapped wile the lamp was coming on.

pH, nutrients and reservoir temperatures all where I like them to be.

Here are the 3 Lemon Skunk Clones that will be filling up the SCRoG net I will be making.

And here is some bud porn, the first picture is weird and I have a few bud sites that look like they are ahead of the others.

I think everything is coming along nicely, let us hope I do not screw up curing.

Looking really good. Thanks for answering my question a few pages back. I'm 7 days into flower and both lemon skunks look good. Not acting a sensitive now. Hope mine look like that in another 30+ days

Hey come over to my Lemon Skunk journal, we have about 7 different growers with different Lemon Skunk phenos checking in and adding their input.

You may prefer the soil route but you must believe me that bubbleponics, modified dwc, whatever you want to label it is easy as hell. Although this is my first solo grow I have been third party to many grows encompassing soil, dwc, aeroponics, bubbleponics and the truth be told I have learned a lot over time with these other grows and lots of reading (I am also a High Times subscriber for 8+ years) :-P but this grow has really taken care of itself.

You will see in the beginning of the thread I killed one plant and the others were floating in water and almost dead because of some liquid miracle grow, and I had to transplant them twice and broke a fair amount of the root structure but they survived and have flourished.

The final harvest weight will tell the tale :leaf:

High all,

Not much for updates but I have been working hard to keep my pH steady, you can see in some of the pictures below what pH can do. I have had some Ca and Mn lock out issues and my total PPM's may have been a touch high, after backing off off the nutrients they have started to look better.

I am still feeding Advanced Nutrient Grow & Overdrive, CalMag, and the next reservoir dump I will start to add in Bud Sweetener.

I am planning the harvest in about a month, the end is near for this grow, enjoy the pictures:

PPM is very high due to a fresh reservoir change after 24 hours I add about 4L of pH water, they seem to enjoy the pike in nutrients and then easy going for the rest of the week.

And the bud shots, sorry they are not that good.

I know I have done many things wrong on this grow, but I have learnt so much so it has been well worth it. Comments! criticisms! questions?

regards,
