So after talking to a friend with experience using the 600r and the 650 r in his 5x5, I’m currently running a 600r in a 5x5x6.5 tent in its side so that it has a 6.5” footprint. I have 6 currently vegging there, but I’m ordering a Vivosun 5x10 another, 600r, and 2 8bulb t5s. The 5x5 is going to be a clone/veg tent with the t5s and the 5x10 my flower, running an 8 and 8 cycle. I have them in 3gal smarts and plan to transfer to 10s around week 6. They’re currently being fed medione 3mL per L and are getting 2L 2x a week currently. They’re in 2 bag to 1 bale mix of ocean forest and hp promix. My question is, for the flower tent, would it be worth the 300ish I can get a 300r for or should the 2 600 be enough? Also, any suggestions where I can improve, maybe trimming and training or different whatever’s, are always appreciated✌❤

For flowering throw in as much light as you are willing to pay the hydro for. LED are great but hard to get even coverage and penetraion. Keep in mind the more light, the more water and nutes the plants will need. I use 4 x 1200W King LED lights in my 3x3x8ft grow tent during flower. Pulls about 920W from the wall. But my utilities are included in my rent. 4 plants per grow, each plant has a dedicated light to allow for different plant heights.

I’m just a little worried about the intensity being too much for em

You can raise the lights if you see problems like the leaves turning white or the very tips of the fans showing a little light burn. Before LED most growers used HPS bulbs in flower (300, 600, 800, 1000W) When you compare what they get from the sun outside it is hard to equal that light intensity. Suggest you stay in your comfort zone though. You can always add more light later. I started with 1 x 1200W and had a second in the closet in case it the first died. After a few crops I used both in flower to see. Yield, bud density and size increased. So I bought a couple more spares for just case. 5 years later I used 1 for seedlings. Turn on a second for mature plant veg and kick on all 4 in flower. I grow sativas, indicas and hybrid strains. Some strains are more sensitive to light and others will take it all and love it showing me praying leaves inches from the light. Picture is White Widow and Northern Lights Fast in the front and Green Crack in the back. 1 week into flower.

hell ya, will definitely grab one of the 300s if the budget allows. The hlg has me a little gun shy, I had it way too close when I first transplanted and burned the ladies. 2 weeks later and at the proper height and I’ve been able to slowly dial it up to around 40-50% and they’re loving it, i also increased the medione from 2ml per L to 3 and plan on upping that to 4 on tuesdays feeding.
