First grow! Looking good to me loL!

Hey whats up guys!

So i took on the challenge of raising these two beautiful young ladies, and so far I'm impressed. This is my 1st grow so I'm sure there is lots that I'm not doing but so far so good. I went down to home depot and made that 30 gal tub with 6 CFL bulbs grow box. I have (6) 2700k bulbs that run 12/12, and 4 fans. I'm thinking about getting (1) 150w HPS fixture to hang from the top, but we'll see! :] I only had these plants in the vegging stage for 1 week before i transfered them to flowering.

I'm actually doing it a little different from what I've seen online and talked about. I have my grow box outdoors so it tends to run a bit hotter than "normal".

I use Fox Farms Ocean forest organic soil & Fox Farms Big Bloom

Deep Chunk X Strawberry Cough
Pine OG

Here are the girls when i 1st got them.

The look stretched, Move the lights closer. You should think about changing the CFL's with the HPS you will get better reults.

Really?! How close should the lights be to the tops of the plants? Right now they are about 4" away id say.

Healthy plants but I still don't understand why people bloom with CFLs. Good luck man. Hope its worth the effort.
Hahah! Yeah man, really no effort at all. Just water and give them some nutes here and there. What do you use? Do you think (1) 150W HPS light fixture would be enough for these 2 plants? I don't want it to heat up in that little grow box and kill the plants.

Here is the fixture i was planning on getting.

You will get better results with an HPS. MJ can manage high temps, its the combination of high temps and high humidity you need to look out for. As long as you keep the box well ventilated that light will do much more for those plants than CFLs. Next round I would invest in a 400W.

Oh and I run a 1000w right now. You can see in my journal if you want.

Great thanks for the input. To be honest, I'm afraid of using an HPS light because my box is already damn hot now since it is outside. Also, I try and keep my box ventilated as much as possible, but if I add more Ill be more likely to have light leaks.

Do the HPS bulbs rape the electricity bill? I've seen a $10 increase over the last month with (6) 23w CFL bulbs @ 12/12 & (4) 12v fans @ 24hrs.

Last questions, do you think I will see better results with that (1) 150w HPS fixture than with those (6) CFL bulbs? Is there a specific bulb to get for flowering with those HPS lights, cuz I use 2700k CFL for flowering, just wanted to know if the bulb that comes with the fixture is the bulb I'll be needing to flower these girls.

Thanks for all your help.
