first grow need advice on soil mix pls

first grow got a few "chem dog" seeds from a friend already on day 13 under cfl,s in regular potting soil seed starter and have a 400hps/mh coming soon.

i need help with my soil mix these are the ingredients i have:

Gardeners gold soil(best soil from local nursery
Bone meal, blood meal, kelp meal
25 lbs worm castings
dolomite lime
peralite and vermiculite.

also another newbie question. if i mix up these organic ferts in the soil mix do I stay away from liquid ferts. and if so for how long? any advice appreciated

here's a formula for u...
1 qt. perlite/ 1 qt. vermiculite
2 qt. worm castings/ 1qt. gardeners gold
1/2 lime, and i would go lite on both the bone meal and the blood meal because they can really affect your PH. The same with the kelp meal. Mix your soil, wait 24 hrs and test with a PH meter. If your Ph is off. Do the easy way and use the dolomite to get u to a PH of 7. 1/2 teaspoon to one gallon of water. water every other day untill your PH comes back. After 3 to 4 weeks growing (always checking PH) start a liquid fert program. Go to ebay and search Super plant tonic, By a company called Blue Mountain Organics who is purely organic and their 4 pack combo is like 25.00 bucks. Dont let price and the modest label fool you! They list everything they use and they are the best period. I have used foxfarm, BC, Advanced, and they all are a pretty bottle with a pretty label with a pretty price. I'm not sayin their shit dont work, but tooo pricey and not truly organic. If you want the best grown buds and tasty go with Blue Mountain Organics!!!! U may just have to search on ebay "Super plant Tonic" because for some reason BMO or Blue Mountain Organics gets jumbled?? Holla if i can help. God Bless

thanks for that hard to find answers on this site sometime. ordered the ferts 32 bucks after shipping, not bad.
chem dog is thriving this last week since the transplant from peat pot into new soil, plus i overwatered it in the beg i think.
i ordered last fri from attitude: 5 fem barney lsd(the name got me), barney red diesel, dutch white rhino and the free bees.

i plan on germinating like 12 of them and i have ten 24 watt CFLs for a box i made aprox 4'by1'6" wide and three feet tall.
how lond can i grow these girls under the CFL in ur opinion b4 moving to a HID( gonna get two 400mh/hps or 1 1000watt.

this is my third attempt but first serious one with some money to invest.
any advice by appreciated u seem to know whats up.

currently wondering about using rockwool to put the germinated seeds in instead of peat pots
and also about a ventilation system(not gonna spend a fortune on it though) btw i got a ph tester from my nursery (18$) it pretty much says 7 maybe 7.2 not sure how accurate it is tho.

after looking at my message to you on the mix i realized i said half lime. when in fact i meant a half a cup of lime. Hope i didn't totally f%^k you up. About the "how long can I grow before moving to alternate lighting. I would say after a couple of weeks. If your running the proper spectrum on your alternate light aka (vegging Blue spectrum) then, the sooner the better.. Hid are yellow/orange/red though so i would wait untill you want to get biggest yield per space. Once a plant goes into flowering, you can expect it to grow in height between 1 and 3 feet. That is unless you LST or even scrogg.. And By the way you could do your entire grow under HID's, it will just take longer to get your yeild, but it could be a bigger yeild!!!! I prefer rockwool plugs that has the slit in the side for easy clone insertion, but for germinating i would go with rockwool cubes.. They hold moisture better. One of the best tips i ever got was putting a heating mat under my germinating tray. Careful not to use a household one (electricution) but you can find some cheapies on ebay. While your on ebay check out HTGsupply growlights. You may have to type in just HTG growlights to get you in the neighborhood , but they have switchable MH/SOdium for very cheap and backed with great warranties. Power sellers with great feedback as well. Could save u a shite load of money!! take it easy for now! laters

yea i was just on ebay they checking out htg store. way cheaper then the store in my city(lucky to have one tho).
think i might axe the cfls unless im gonna do clones and go with 2 HID lamps. is it worth the extra 40 bucks for the cool tube versions? i really would like to have a veg room and flower seperate bc i have the space and would get more crops

everything sounds good, but i would make sure that if u do get lights of that variation that you get switchable lamps. Meaning one lamp can switch from Metal halide to HPS. Both are used in both phases of growth (red and Greeen) HTGsupply has some killer deals on switchables in all watt ranges!!
If u want a flower/clone room use fluorescent 48" from wally world. Get a germination heat pad to keep em warm. Or if money is no object, get a 2 light deal from HTG and use cfl for clones only. You'll have to figure this one out. There is alot of options but you can simplify. Just keep it simple, use the scientific facts(that are simple , as I've explained) and in no time you'll be smokin your own dank!!!!! peace
