First Grow... Ready To Harvest?

Out of curiosity, why ? His trichs are clearly turning amber in parts. Or is it the still white pistils ?
tons of fresh white pistils and lack of swelling of the calyx are the two biggest indicators. If it isn't immediately obvious to someone that those are not done then I would guess that person has never seen a mature cannabis flower.

It seems like there’s an order to ripeness- pistils, swelling, and trichomes. In that order.

Once the pistils turn colors make sure the calyxs are swollen, and then check the trichs if you want.

At least that’s what I’ve gathered over the last few months.

Okay... its been 2 weeks since I posted the question as to whether or not my first ever grow (Blue Cheese plants) were ready to harvest. Most everyone advised to wait at least 2 weeks, which I have ;) Mostly brown hairs now on almost all flowers, trichomes looking milky-ish from what I can see with my phone camera zoomed in all the way. Maybe some of you would be kind enough to give your opinion on whether its time to harvest... or to continue to wait? Thanks in advance, I do appreciate all of the advice.

i think you can def harvest that. contrary to what some people said...i think some strains can go too long...like they start making new buds on top of the old buds and makes it not taste right ;)
while it is indeed possible to let a plant flower too long, the plant in the most recent pics are not done. not at all.

Your temps were to high and they foxtailed
Now your looking at a mercy harvest with less potency IMO
Try to skip growing next summer or fix the environmental issues
Still decent plants just not your best yet
Temps were in the mid 70s inside the grow tent most of the time so the tent didn't get very hot. The leaves may look a bit clawed or foxtailed because I skipped a day longer on watering and they were a bit withered today. Just watered them a couple of hours before snapping the pics.

Took a closer look at the buds with a usb microscope and the trichomes are milky-ish... going to keep an eye on them every day, seems they are pretty close.

They look like they have about 2 weeks left.

Leaves don't foxtail the flowers do. Foxtailing is just vertical stacking of the calyx. It doesn't reduce potency only it's visual appeal.

Yep, I had to look up "foxtailing" to understand what that was lol... all of this is new to me ;) IDK, maybe the one cola is foxtailing a bit bcoz it sits higher than all of the rest and is closer to the light, but everything else looks normal. I compared against pics of other Blue Cheese and they look pretty much the same.

Anyway, keeping an eye on everything and at this point still waiting. :weed:

I’m gonna beg to differ
If I grow two ECSD side by side
And let one grow up towards the light more, which means more heat
The one with the fox tails never really finished properly and thus less potent and not as flavorful
At least that is what I have had happen
Not scientific just poor growing habitats

I'm checking the trichomes every day now, they're all hazy now, and soon as I see some noticeable amount of amber ones I'll be harvesting. I'll snap some pics at that time and see what everyone's opinion is... will be curious.
