first grow seedling day 3

I don't want to post flower pics in your sprout thread but if you want to see some puzzling white stuff, look at the NL grow in my sig, first photo...note the power cord going to the light. White stuff is all over it and it has accumulated on the cord in a candy-cane striped manner. I wiped it all off after that photo and now i see it beginning to form in the same striped way.
I have no idea what it is. I have been using some damp-rid things and is the only thing i can think of where it could be coming from. I took the damp-rid out so will see if it stops.

I figured out my light situation Took the reflector off the shop light and put the cfl on top of the led tubes. About 4 inch high now holding 73.5 degrees This should be good now.

The two droopie girls are on the right, they after finally starting to spread there wings.

Way to go bro. I like it.

I still have this one seed that wont pop. I took in out about 5 days ago when the other one popped up. I soaked it 24 hours a second it had a crack in the husk and I could see the tap root. So I pinched it real good to loosen it up put it back in the dirt a few days. Anyways I took it out again to day. Still not tap root I can see inside the seed though looked nice and white. So I took half the husk off. Ill keep you updated of course. Just a fun experiment now but will be interesting to see if it pops up.

Not bad So a few days ago I Watered those ones that have been clawing and the perked up for a day, but then the next day they did the clawing again idk. I also switched over to my cob led lights at about 60 watts * 3 at 20 inches. They seem to be okay with it temps are hold 73 with the tent closed up only a small fan blowing into nice.




Man this place being down sucks so many things I wanted to look up not many forums are talking cob leds like this place.


So I ordered some 1 gal fabric pots to transplant them soon. Im going to give them all some water tonight the soil was looking dry I was waiting to see with these would pick their leaves up but I guess now. I talked to the breeder he said the same thing as you overwater. Idk though I didn't water it for about 5-6 days and they still looked like that. That nice light green one I've watered 3 times as much and it leaves always stay perky.

I don't know what you mean by "clawing" but they look fine to me.
How long has it been since they sprouted? if you are seeing roots growing out the drain holes it is time to transplant into some good soil. This will help things a great deal. Am sure you know to only use plain ph'd water when transplanting.
If you are uncertain about soil, I recommend the fox farms ocean forest, i get it on ebay. I think everyone will agree it is the closest to cannabis-perfect as you will find straight out of the bag, which is how i use it and the plants just seem to love it! (dark, lush green)
I will post a photo of mine when the site will allow it again.

Ya the clawing how the leaves are drooping inward. For the roots I just see a couple I cut the holes bigger my cup to check them out. Ill probably do it maybe sunday. Ya going to transplant then water it really good with plain ph water to get the air out. The seedling are about 16 days now.

yep, it's time. just let 'em dry out real good first and I think this will really jump-start things for ya if you get the soil right.

As for over-watering, the way i do it is feed, skip 2 days, feed, skip one day, plain ph'd water @ 1/2 usual amount, skip one day and repeat.
Giving it a light dose of plain water before beginning a new weeks feeding schedule will help prevent lockout conditions.

Not that I am aware of. we just want enough roots in there to hold the soil together so it will come out easily without damaging the roots and developed enough to handle the increased nutrients in the regular soil.

Well, you can try it damp, i never tried it... but i think there will be enuff roots to hold most of it together dry and if some of it crumbles and falls away, that's ok. just carefully bury the roots. It is going to be stressed and won't do much for a few days, maybe a week after this but it will really start putting it on when they get their feet in that new soil.

i was just thinking... if the soil is damp, i don't think it's gonna want to slide out of the cups as it would dry.

Im just going to cut the cup down the middle put in the hole and slide the cup out should be good

so I cut one side open and peaked in, it had one nice root running to the hole then it spread out like the size of a dime probably half inch from the bottom of the cup. So Im going to give them a few more days to root up plus I just shocked em with the new bright light a couple days ago.

I honestly think you need to get them in some good soil as soon as you can. It just isn't coming along as well as it should be and think it is struggling in that stuff.

*edit* after 2 weeks from sprout, with the small amount of dirt in those cups, they should be root-bound by now.
