firstly, these are bag seed. and my first real grow from seed. my best guess on genetics is from a very nice amnesia haze i was getting from same source over the past year. i also suspect they are autoflower as considerable bud growth started happening before switching to 12/12 from 24. despite that i kept them on a 12/12 around week 4.
they germinated around sept 25th so this is week 7.
put them in a bio soil made for young plants from my local nursery (so i assumed not hot). mixed a third perlite and put them in 10 liter smart pots.
quickly learned the delicate balance of watering and drying cycle, thought i was on track to a successful harvest on my first go.
i did low stress training all 4 of them, my two most robust plants of this batch are 3 and 4. i topped 3 and left four to grow more naturally. i've also now placed them all into tomato cages to break up the leaves and help with light penetration.
they're under 2 300w led lights (i have a third but my tent (120x120x80cm) seemed too small to handle all the light (and heat surprisingly, the heat really added up despite them being LEDs
as of now i keep humidity around 55% and temp fluxuates between 22 and 26 but normally is around 24.5.
it was all good just a week ago...
well sort of, i left them alone a weekend once and they exhibited signs of heat stress and but i adjusted my tent and vent situation they recovered. they also had spider mites at one point which i got rid of with 1 neem spray and predatory mites. i managed to recover from this, from my neophyte perspective of course.
all the while i've been following the bio bizz (grow/bloom/topmax) feed schedule (slightly reduced since i wanted to error on the side of under nuting them to avoid burn) with ph'd water around 6.5, but my water is very hard (high in mag and cal tho), so i was using a bio ph down to get it from 7.2 to 6.5. now i've stopped using all but a very light dose of bloom, ph at 6.5 for my last watering. oh also i use ph pen i calibrate to measure liquids but i also have a soil meter to measure soil ph and it always reads just above 7 no mater how much 6.5 i pour into it.
plants are labeled 1-4, there is also a 5th plant that has received no nutes, only water and a low watt LED light in my kitchen, just to see what happens.
any advice i greatly appreciate, this is primarily a learning grow, as i'd like to eventually being growing high cbd low thc plants for medical purposes for two family members.
regard soil: i know i messed up by not getting a canna specific soil from the beginning, i ordered a bag of canna terra plus soil, is there any way to do some sort of top dressing with that at this point to help get some more natural nutrients and microbes into the mix at this point (and maybe lower the soil ph)?
thanks in advance and apologies if there are too many symptoms to address.
