Well, i have a 3' x 3' x 5' grow area that right now i am using for sprouts. I have 3 2' 2 lamp fixtures with t-12's in them. 20 watts each four 6500k bulbs and 2 2700k bulbs. Right now i have one sprout that is four days old, i have two that were very close to dying but i have been nursing them back to health and finally i have the oldest of them all... she is not doing so well, her leaves are yellowing. She was started bout 3 weeks ago. She never has grown very much but i say thats because of the poor quality lights im using. I was impatient when i started buying supplies and didn't do enough research. I am posting some pics for yall, any comments are welcome. I have done alot of research on here since i started these and have started planning the next setup i will use. I am moving soon so i will have a chance to redesign the room and i also plan on using cfl's. Well here are the pics...
please dont be too harsh on me as i am learning as i go.
the first pic is of the new sprout
the second pic is of the two i am nursing back to health
the thrid pic is of the oldest girl... shes right at 3 weeks

all of them have been under 24/0 lighting since germination.

yes you are correct, the pic on the right is is of the girl i call " eve ". Her leaves are yellowing a bit and somewhat drooping compared to the two injured ones in the middle but her leaves are thick and velvety. I dont know... i thought it could be the nutes in the soil i used but i flushed the soil before planting the seeding in it so that whatever nutes that were left were alot less strength than what they were. Do you think it would be ok to start feeding 1/4 strength nutes to her and see if that helps?? or should i continue with the straight distilled phed water?

id test the ph of the soil.. i know those things suck but test it to get an idea. could be over watering droopy yellowing is a sign. but i belive the plants wont use nutes for the first few weeks.. was told from the hydro lady

I thought about the overwatering thing too and i want to make a watering chart to keep in the room but i have a tendency to forget things. I am trying to get alot of pics up but bare with me as my camera is a cheap little thing. Here is another couple pics of the most recent addition to the group. She.. to me .. is looking good but this is my first time really trying to grow so im no expert. The other girl is Eve... she is the one yellowing. im gonna give her a day or two with no water to see if she perks up a little. But so far what do yall think?

Move your lights much closer to the plants. You don't want them to have to stretch for the light. Give it to them and they'll stay happy, short, and bushy.

You need to get a pH meter. If the pH is off, the plants can't absorb essential nutrients and their growth will be stunted. pH your soil, and then adjust your water's pH accordingly. I believe for soil grows you want a pH of about 6.2 -> (pH of soil + pH of water) / 2 = 6.2. pH is the foundation of your plant's wellbeing.

Also, the soil looks very wet. When determining how much to water your plant, think of the plant's size. It doesn't really need THAT much water. In fact, you want the roots to have to search for water so that they stretch and develop into a full root system. I would dry that baby out for at least a week.

I myself am using time-released fertilizer in my soil, so I don't know much about using nutes. However, Since the plants are small, using nutes can overload them and stunt or even kill them. I would stop using nutes until your pH / water problems are fixed.

Read the GROWFAQ on what your doing when you have spare time, it will help you a lot.

Good luck, and keep us posted!

a few pics so far
these are of the new girl she is now 11 days old
slow growth probably cause of using t-12's but am looking at a scrog setup with a 250 hps for next grow. Growing this girl is just for fun until i move nd setup the new box.
