First grow under 125w CFL looking good ?

SEEDS :

3 unknown germinated around 18 days ago.
6 Dreamtime (Mr Nice) germinated around 14 days ago.

germination took place in root riot plugs then I transplanted in biobizz lightmix.
They had their second feeding using Plagron Alga Grow yesterday. I water every 2 days.

Any comments appreciated about the health of the babies.

I also wonder if I should start LST or Fimming/Topping the 3 oldest ones to prevent too much vertical growth.

I am not giving any advice on trimming since this is my first grow, just sharing my expierience as i learn. Heres a link to a post on here about LST, if you search for it the info is on here and probably a video of topping and how to do it properly.

From what you see the plants look healthy at the moment ? Is the height ok for 3 weeks plants ? is the color fine ?
I just want to make sure the setup is fine cause I plan to keep it as a permanent vegging room. If everything fine with this first batch I will be more confident in getting expensive seeds for the next one !

They look healthy. Is the cfl 125 tru watts? Nice thing anout cfls is you can always add more. I have 2 85w and 2 42w on 5 seedlings only 8 days old and I plan on adding more and using cfls for veg. From the info I have read you want 100w cfl and 50w for each additional plant and more would be better.

Its a CIS 125w CFL bought in a growshop with a decent reflector. No idea if its the actual wattage, I dont think so but I haven't researched it. According to the guy, it is ok for 50 square cm surface. what I like right now is that the temps and humidity are fine without an extraction. A small oscillating fan and a window opened in the day seem to do the job. So i can focus on a good flowering setup without investing too much. Also my place is tiny and I sleep in there, so the noise might be an issue...

It sounds like a lot of lamps to me ! do u plan to flower them also under Cfls ?

Hey buddy congrats you got some nice healthy plants there. You'll be ok for a little while with that cfl, but unless you plan on flowering real early I'd look into adding some more. If youre keeping it cheap, go grab a power strip or two, a number of socket-to-outlet converters, socket splitters, and a bunch of 23-45w cfls (6500k for veg, 2500k for flower). Put those together and hang a strip of lights whenever your plants are filling out to get some extra coverage. It's real cheap to make (go to walmart), maybe $30-40. Keep those babies low and flat too so you can get the cfl(s) as close and as even to the tops as possible. Best thing to do would be to lst around 6-7in (I'd super crop the stem first then tie 2 days later). When you lst, make sure you tie a support to the base of the plant in the opposite direction of the tie that will pull the plant from the top. This will give the roots support and improve the strength of your base. As your side shoots ascend to create new tops, tie them down as well until you have a flat 'table' of colas across all of your plants. Now your plants will grow even and let you utilize more wattage.

Thanks for the great advice man, I will have to sort it out soon. When do you think I could take a few cuttings from the oldest ones and move them in flowering ? I want to identify mothers asap ! And in your opinion with a few more lights, how long would it take to reach a decent veg maturity ? I thought a month was a long veg time but I guess I was optimistic...

you want to take cuttings when you have plenty of side branches and the side branches are at least 3 nodes long (the smaller the better for rooting). Veg maturity is dependent on strain, additional lights, training, genetics, pot size, nutrient schedule.....etc.....But don't worry. Make sure your roots have room to grow in your current pots, add enough lights so that 3/4 of the depth of the plants is illuminated as well ad the entire width, train them into table tops (as I described before). flip to flower before you'd will lose 3/4 illumination after the plant stretch (stretch is generally 1.5x starting height for indica, 2x for sativa). What I mean by this is: if you have enough lights to illuminate 4" of a 6" tall plant in veg and are growing an indica, you know you do NOT have enough lighting for the plant to double while maintaining 3/4 total coverage when flowered.
