After doing lots of smoking over the last 5 years, I have finally gotten around to growing some chron. I am pretty
sure I know what I am doing. I have watched tons of videos and read a few books. Some of them seem to contradict
each other sometimes but I think I got the idea. I just discovered this site a few days ago and it looks like if anything goes wrong I should be able to find a solution here.
I ended up finding the perfect secret spot in my house in a closet within a closet. There was a big shelf back there but
we tore it down. The tent and veg box will fit back there and anyone who comes over to the house won't ever stumble across it.
Here is my setup:
-HYDROPONICS GROW TENT 48" X 24" X 60" GROW BOX CABINET for Flowering
-Digital Air Cool Grow Light 400W HPS + MH 400 W for the tent
-2x2x2 ft cube box with white surface on the inside. 2 28 watt CFLs - For Veg
I am going for a soil grow to start. If it works out for me, I eventually plan to switch to hydro. I had a very hard
time finding good soil where I live. Most of the articles I read mentioned Fox Farms as being a good potting soil,
but they don't sell that shit here. I ended up getting for my soil mix:
-Schulz Professional Potting Soil 60%
-Perlite 15%
-Construction/Masonry Sand 10%
- 10% Worm Castings
- An All Purpose Fertilizer with 10-10-10 NPK Value ( this was the absolute best thing I could find, all the
fertilizers I could find had higher P values than N so this had to do)
This will feed my plants for the first couple of weeks. After which, I have a liquid fert that I will use Schulz liquid fertilzer with 10-15-10 NPK value. I think this one should be good for flowering.
As of now, the tent and HPS lights are on their way in the mail. I have already germinated 5 White Widow (Greenhouse) seeds, which I picked up for 100 bucks at a local "Souvenir" shop..lol.. I just planted them and put them under 24 hour lights under the 2 CFLs yesterday. I beleive this should be enough light but someone please let me know if I need more. I have the plants about 10 cm from the light right now. I am keeping the top of the soil
moist with some rain water. Haven't really watered them yet other than this.
The hydro tent should be pretty sick once I get it all setup with intake/out vents and fans. I am going to use an
odor killer just for the heck of it, like one of these:

I should all be here by the end of the week, so I will have 2-2.5 weeks to get it setup.
The veg box should hold quite a few plants and clones. My plan is to get these 5 White Widow plants going. I have a
whole bunch more seeds coming that I ordered online from Attitude. Once they get here, I am going to start a few
more varieties and save some seeds for later. I hope to have about 3-4 different kinds flowering at once. I was really
scared about ordering the seeds online. After checking out a bunch of different sites, I decided that Attitude (cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk) was probably
the safest. They also responded to my e-mails very quickly. They ship their seeds with a "Stealth" option, where you
can pay an extra 12$ to get a t shirt and a DVD case shipped with your seeds so that it has a better chance of
making it through customs. They should be here by next week. They let you order individual seeds too, all feminized.
They were only like 10$ per seed, so if any die, it's not a very big deal (although I will be very sad!).

The main reason I am doing this is to get a variety of chron that won't cost me very much (after the initial costs of getting everything setup). I spend way to much money on weed these days and it's usually shit. Every once in a while, we might be able to find some of the good shit.. but it's usually a lot harder. I am hoping to supply myself and a couple of my close friends with some good bud this winter. We were planning to do our own "Cannibus Cup" by smoking each weed and seeing which is the best. I am not really wanting to make any money.. I just think it's going to be rewarding watching the plants grow.
For now, I am going to let the plants grow and get the rest of my setup together. I will post some pictures of the setup once everything is complete. I am hoping to see some sprouts in a couple of days.
Since this is the first time I have done this, it would be great to get some feed back. My first question would be
about the tents - has anyone used them (4 ft long, 2 ft wide, 4 ft tall)? They look pretty good for small grows. The tent can easily fit nine 5L pots, but would I want to stick that many plants inside the tent? Is it okay for the plants to touch each other
(especially given the fact that I am going to have multiple strains growing in the same area)? I don't wanna get too
many seeds going if they won't fit in the tent.
