First Grow w/ LED (Lots of Pics)

I'm pretty sure the landlord is tearing down my apartment building after my lease is up at the end of July, or else I don't think I'm getting my deposit back... !!! lol.

Even with the ventilation system we put in, the temp gets to 88-90 with the door closed while I'm not home for a few hours. This doesn't seem to affect the plants very much as of now, but does anybody have any idea what that'll do during flowering?

High temps during flowering give you airy buds :peace:

Update: Around 25-29 days old

Here are some pictures from earlier today, we have narrowed them down to 8 strong, and they are centered under the lights, the rest are soon to be replaced by lowryder 2's. We also, added 4 6500k 26w cfl's and distributed them around the area to give a broader spectrum to help with vegging. We will have some pictures of the changes soon.

Also, for the lowryders we have waiting some new soil. We got something from lowes called "Jungle Growth" proffesional mix for flowers and vegetables, which was the closet thing we could find to promix. It is a spagnum peat moss based mix, with some perlite, verm added. We added to it 25% perlite, and some dolomite lime for good measures to defeat our previous problems. Overall the new soil looks 500% better than the miracle grow. No bark chunks and much more airy. Just now are waiting for the seeds to come in, which I imagine is in the next couple days.

You will notice in the picture, that the plants are now fully recovered from the fimming, and you can see the 4 new tops coming in nicely. The fimming was done 3 days ago.

Here is a link to the soil 40 Quart Potting Mix With Fertilizer

Now after reading some google links on it, I'm really happy that I got it, because everyone seems to love it. Very rich looking....I'll try to add some pictures later. Here is what it says is in it.

"A complete and ready to use blend of composted aged forest products, Canadian sphagnum peat moss, perlite, vermiculite, charcoal, lime and fertilizer."

Looking nice!! I'm keeping up with this thread. I have two little buddies hanging out in my closet also. I think they're probably the same age as yours. but i'm only running two cfl's on them. but anyways, nice job!

Dude I think its great what you are doing here! But for 29 days those look a little puny and stretched out IMHO. When you going to start flowering? Are you going to keep the same set up all the way through. Cant wait to see the end results. I will be following this one.

Yeah, if you read through the log, we had multiple problems, seeing that this is our first grow. We had overwatering, soil packing, and over heating problems, which I believe led to the stunting. We will be vegging these for at least 2 months, as we are about to start some lowryder 2's which will flower while the others are vegging.

For the lowryders, these are going to have pretty optimum conditions, at least compared to these that we have going already. Much better soil, we have moisture meters to watch the water levels, and we have added some ventilation to keep the heat down.

The current plants are all seeds from different bags. We have some shorter ones, which look more like indicas that we havn't really taken too many pictures of, then we have the taller ones which are really hard to keep short. We fimmed the fims today, and keep in mind while we are fimming it will stunt the overall growth of the plant. But they will continue to get bushier and bushier with many tops, which is what we are going for.

Thanks for stopping by, yeah we have fimmed most of them once now, and yesterday I went through and fimmed all of the recovered ones again where any of the new tops had come in. So soon, we should really see a lot of them coming in. Here is the thread that really made me want to fim them....he did a great job.

With the new ventilation system (we recently switched out the fans, putting the larger one on ventilation duty...) the max temp in the closet dropped from 103 to 85.

The lights turn on at 6am, and I just opened my closet at 10am and the temp was just 80. looks like the overheating problem is solved.

Update: 28-32 days old

We have weeded out some of the weaker ones, and plan to add some lowryder 2's to the grow soon to try them out. You can see the new pots for them, plus we got 4 6500k 26w bulbs added, and put a more powerful fan on the exhaust. We used cardboard strips to build a funnel to funnel the air down from the fan into the smaller ducting.

Btw, these are higher res pics and are semi large, so just be aware.

Also, you can check out the fimming, on some of them they have so many leaves coming out they are running all into each other. One of the pictures is of what we call the "retard"....it has grown behind the rest, and used to really look more pathetic, but now is just split in two directions from the very base almost of the plant.

that one you call a retard you accidentally TOPPED it...not fimed it thats why it did that. You must have accidentally taken off the whole main grow shoot.

Topping always causes two main shoots.
fiming causes anywhere from 2-8

Looking great. :peace::blsmoke::mrgreen:

Actually, it grew like that for some reason without us touching it. Before it looked even more retarded. It grew this weird looking leaf out first that wasn't a top. Then after a week or so it started growing two new tops out of the node where the first blade leafs were. I ended up just topping the weird looking leaf off just the other day hoping it would split into two normal tops, so that's why it looks like we topped it.

Should have some new pictures in the next couple days....after the last fimming and a good watering with nutes, the growth has exploded.

Awesome...A self topping plant hahahaha.

Something had to of damaged the main grow shoot for it to do that.

Keep up the good work! :blsmoke::peace:
