First Grow - White Queen; Seedling Leaves Cupping Up

Hey guys! Thanks so much for having me!

I am new to the growing community and this is my first plant. I am currently two weeks into the seedling phase and am experiencing some problems, and am praying that someone can help me out, or at least calm my fears, haha.

First, my problems:
My first pair of leaves look burnt to hell, my second pair of leaves don't look burnt, but rather dark, and are curling up/canoeing/etc. Noteworthy: The underside of the second pair of leaves is purple.

OK, so here's what I got going on in the tent:
I am growing her in a tent, and for the first two weeks the temp was dead on at 68 degrees F, with absolutely no fluctuation, and the humidity was anywhere from 50-60%. I am using about 3 parts FFOF and 1 parts Perlite as my medium in a 5 gallon pot. My lamp is a PlatinumLED P450.

Here's where I think I went wrong:
Based on the first two leaves looking burnt as hell, I am going to deduce that FFOF was too hot for my seedlings, or the lamp was too close to her (even though it generates little to no heat).

I believe I put her in a pot too large for her; In these two weeks I have only been able to water her twice...with the lack of heat being generated from an LED lamp and the lack of her size, the soil just doesn't lose moisture that fast. (My thinking was less transplants: less stress)

I also believe it is too cold in the room for her; she seems to be growing slow, which probably could be from any of the things I did wrong, but I am wondering if 68 is way too cold?

So, here I am, at your feet, asking for help, because I am clueless as what to do next! Does this mean my plant is screwed? I hope not! Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you guys so much!

If those pictures do not help enough, I can absolutely upload new ones.

(Please no insults or anything negative, I get it, I'm new - I'm just trying to learn a new hobby and hopefully one day have a green thumb like you guys!) Again, thanks so much for all the help.

Seems like you know more than you think, I would agree that the fox farm may be slightly burning it and is also planted in too big of a pot. But it doesn't look too bad and will probably survive and thrive, just give it some time!

She's really healthy but a little cold and also she looks droopy like she's a little wet. Are the lower leafs drooping into the dirt? It's ok to plant a seedling in a larger amount of dirt but in my experience of doing this I was watering once a week if that at first. Let the container dry out a lot so you don't get unwanted things growing in there. If you think you are too close to the light I bet it is because you are. Get help from LED enthusiasts because I use flouro in veg

Hey MeJuana! Thanks for the response! I agree, I need to find a good space heater that wont raise the temp of the tent into an over. No the lower two leaves are not drooping at all, just those two. I raised the light up a good 18". I will definitely let dry out plenty before next watering; thanks!

Welcome to RIU, and the wonderful world of cultivating the world's most misunderstood and feared medicines!!!

The only 'advice' I can give you or anyone is to read and learn and then apply what you have read and learned to your garden and you cannot fail. Anyways, remember the search tool is your friend...Lots of folks here willing to help a new farmer get up and growing. But at the end of the day your grow will be only as good as the knowledge and work you put into it.

It is always great to ask questions but do not take anyone's advice or opinions and follow blindly. Do your own research, you will be much happier knowing you have done it for yourself and by yourself. The first buzz you get from your own budz...is by far the BEST high you will ever have!

I like to keep my seedlings warm and humid even at that stage. Halves (cut it) of plastic bottles work great as mini humidity domes. I like to keep mine in small pots or jiffy pucks, being small, I can have them on a heating mat when I need to raise temps, I like to keep them in the low 70's.
If you are going to "heat them up" with a heater, safest way is to bring up ambient temps of the room your tent is in. So warm up the air that gets sucked into it, rather that having a heater inside the tent.
Keep loving them, doing a good job so far!

probably lights to close, 450w led is a powerful light that doesn't need to be to close. mine looked the same and that was the issue. Also keep an eye on your PH levels on everything going into that pot and the run off after waterings.as for small plants in larger pots. Just water less at each watering and water when the pot feels light and dry, those leaves do look a bit droopy. 68 is not to chilly would say 72-78 is a better range to be in.

Looks like over watering. You can always put cling film over it and prop it up for first few weeks. As for pot size big is ok if you know the technique. It's all well it being wet for a few days but when it's wet air can't properly circulate. Doesn't look to bad tho. Keep an eye on new growth.

Hey Dadopeboii, Thanks, that actually means a lot; lets hope it does survive; thanks man!

Thanks for the kind words $bkbbudz$! Im actually really enjoying all the studying and learning, and am only beginning to scratch the surface...there is so much knowledge to be had; but I am glad I am in a community like this where people can help me learn; it's fun! I am getting personally attached to my ladies lol.

Thanks for the response TopDogTHC...I am unfamiliar with the cling film method but I will research it so I dont have to badger you. After much reading after putting my germinated seed into a 5 Gal pot that I realized I while many probably can do this flawlessly, I would need much more experience...I completely agree with you. Again, thanks so much for response, I will keep you updated with pics!

Maxwells Fluff, A) Your dog is gorgeous. B) Thanks so much for the info, it truly means a lot. I definitely am a little sketched out putting a space heater in the tent ("Aint nobody got time for a fire") Based on the responses I am gathering, it seems like I am definitely doing something wrong with the temperature and watering...I am researching your method and TopDogTHC's cling film method as we speak right now lol

Wow thanks so much for that response, that picture does really look like how my plant does! And I was absolutely keeping the light super close, because I was dumb and thought that since the LED's didnt feel hot to my skin, they wouldnt damage my plants (Boy was I wrong). Was your plant able to grow healthy after you corrected your issue?

Not really cupping. She'll live. cupping is commonly heat but your temps aren't high. WWhere you got your hygrometer?
