Planted them on the 25th and broke soil the next day. i know i messed up by putting them straight into the 5lb bags. I haven't been watering the whole pot just the plant area. The light is about 6 inches away from the plants. I'm not really using anything to ventilate the tent yet, Temps been pretty stable staying close to 75to78. I do air it out by opening the tent at least twice a day. I will get a inline fan in few days and have everything setup. I did order my ph meter, should be getting it soon. I'm running the light at 50% and its a 600watt mh air cooled hood and running it 24hrs.

Do i need to lower the temps to 70?

who said you fucked up by putting them in those? Man people get too ANAL over this sheeeit! lol, first of all lets keep shit grounded and start by saying hey bro first time you got your shit pretty tight im impressed. The main concern is not letting the ladies stretch in an attempt to reach your light(WHICH IM SURE THEY'LL TRY). If all ya got is a mh that warm maybe try to grab some supplimental lighting say some 6000k cfl's that you can keep nice and close to those babies. You'll be shocked how much kooler that tent will be with airflow. that being said ANY kind of air flow in there is a good thing. Especially once said babies pop and wanna grow. just a thought.

Mine was touchy with nutes....and very indica (short node spacing, big fat leaves) stretching ain't bad for this puppy...(mine was from vision)

I'm gonna try to lower the light a little bit by doing the hand test because I feel like they r tryin to stretch too. I'm not planning on spending any more money yet so can't get cfls. I will definitely get the air flowing soon. In a week or two.

I'm amazed your tent isn't warmer.what the room temp it's in?
It's pretty close to 55-60, it's in the basement and I turned the heat off in the basement.

Hope all goes well for ya, love white widow :weed:
Thanks a lot man

welcome, girls look good.. is your ballast switchable from MH to HPS?
E.
Honestly I don't know because there isn't any switch to turn it from mh to hps other than the dimmer. I just have to switch the bulbs, it's one of those I power ballast.

Hmmm I thought it was both..? Seeds are from greenhouse seeds.

With an air cooled hood you can put that light right over top of those plants, as long as it's not to hot..
I keep my plants a couple inches from my 400w with cool tube, never any problems.

Closer the light the better in some cases.

If its an iPower ballast then its electronic (digital) which means that it automatically detects which bulb your using and adjusts as necessary, so yes you can use either HPS or MH, however running a 400W bulb (MH or HPS) at 50% will drastically decrease the lifespan and lumen maintenance of the bulb, run the bulb at the wattage its rated for and just raise your hood, unless you have $$$$$ to through away on bulbs that is, lol.

Thanks for the complement man, I appreciate your appreciation, lol. Ive been a smoker for about 17yrs and Ive always been fascinated and interested in plants but Ive only been seriously researching growing for the past 5, Its amazing how much information Ive comprehended and experience Ive gotten in that time, I feel very confident in my abilities to grow but I also feel like a Ferrari on a dirt road because I don't have the means ($) to really put what Ive learned to use, I mean I'm doing what I can and I know I'll get there one day but I have a lot of foot work to do between now and then but that's OK, even the biggest trees start as tiny seeds so we all have to begin somewhere.

How about 75% or it just needs to be run at 100% see the main reason i had it at 50 is to save some money on electric bill. So should i go ahead and run at 100 and adjust the height of the hood.

Looks like a good bright start man. Good luck. What kind of soil are you using?
See i germinated my seeds before i even had plan on getting some decent soil so I got Miracle Grow potting mix and mixed it with like 50% top soil.

OK, first off I'm pretty baked right nowbongsmilie so bear with me, Tis the time of season :leaf: :weed::leaf: anyways, I was told by a very reliable source that running your bulbs below (dimming) or even above (SuperLumens) their rated wattage not only wears the bulbs out much faster (and the lumen maintenance of HPS/MH already sucks) but also puts off a different spectrum than the bulb is originally rated for, these are the facts, you can do it and it works but you'll be replacing bulbs more often and running at different spectrums, if your going to do it I imagine running at 75% would be best, but I was told, again by a reliable source, to run at 100% and raise the lights if needed, as for Miracle Grow, WHY? There are so many other better soils out there, my local hydro shop tests the soils they sell and recently VermiFire and Amazon Bloom came out the best, VermieFire already comes premixed with perlite so its ready to use, anyways, MG works great for tomatoes and flowers but for cannabis flowers, get a good quality potting soil and add 25-35% perlite (unless your using VermiFire that is), if you take care of your plants needs and give them the best you can, they'll do the same in return, whatever you decide good luck and keep us posted.

I'm gonna go to the store and get fox farm soil because since you just told me and I looked around, and getting MC wasn't the best choice for soil medium. I'll just replant the babies again in foxfarm soil. Thanks a lot for the great info it really helps.

Edit: should i wait few days till the babies r Lil more mature and then switch the soil

I wouldnt worry about using too much electricity with a 400w light. Many computers use a minimum of 400w power so your bill will fluctuate but not enough to raise any eyebrows. My comp uses 600w. Just saying 400w isn't enough to raise your elec bill dramatically or be suspicious.

If your going to use Fox Farm Ocean Forest then your going to need to cut it with some light warrior or another mild potting soil as FFOF is pretty hot in terms of nutrient content, Ive heard it time and time again that strait FFOF burns peoples plants, especially with seedlings, clones and young plants.

I replanted them into Foxfarm Tuesday 30th and made sure i had decent amount of micro grow soil around the roots so they don't get a big shock and any burns from fox farm soil which i knew is very hot and I dunno why but i ended up mixing 15lb bag with two fox farm bags, if that makes sense.
Also i'm running the 600watt mh at 100% instead of 50%
Temps stayed around 79-81 and I just put the fan in there which will probably help me with the humidity and the temps. Because my humidity dropped a lot after I started running the light at 100%

Two weeks old

METERS I BOUGHT
water pH is 6.0

I will be getting a 6 inch inline fan with 440cfm if there are any good ones out there please do let me know because i have been looking, especially on amazon. My plan is Hood>ducting>fan>ducting>carbon filter (filter will outside the tent so i could use the heat for the room? Is that a good idea or will it smell?)

If you have the money get one new but if your on a budget I feel an inline fan is something you can safely buy used, I see killer deals on Craigslist all the time, just make sure you test it first and if its running smoothly it should last for years. I'm not sure what you mean by "filter will outside the tent so i could use the heat for the room" but if you have the carbon filter outside the tent it won't absorb the odors well, if at all, you want the CF inside the tent, if you meant that you want the inline fan outside the tent so it can help heat your room then your going to be pretty chilly because they don't produce enough heat for that, they get warm but not enough to make a difference in your room temp anyway.
