First grow, Would like some advice on these two:

Hey guys,

This is my first grow, scored some purps seeds of a mate of mine and thought I would venture in to the world of botany. After a very rough start (started growing without proper equipment, space etc.) we now have four plants which seem to be going along quite nicely. However I do have these two which are showing yellowing/Necrosis. My guess is that the curling is from a bit of heat stress as we are running a 400 HPS in a rather small environment with no intake/exhaust (soon to be corrected). I know this will sound stupid to a lot of you who are experienced but we are students on a budget so things are progressing slowly but surely. The yellowing on the second plant I noticed after a misting of water which has not been pH tested. Could this be some burning through the magnification of the water while still on the leaves.

Anyway guys I've seen some really good stuff posted on this here RIU and would like to be able to show off my grow when it comes to an end, but for now any help would be much appreciated.

Stay high!

The yellowing I don't think is going to be heat related maybe but it looks like too much nutes are you adding anything too them right now? Also I wouldn't use a hps for veging I would try a tube florescent light there cheap and no heat so u can get it right on top of ur plant and no stretching or heat problems

Yea man I would definately get those temps and circulation under control. Im seeing alot of curling on some of those leaves, not just the yellowing ones. Also you wanna try to keep your humidity UP while they veg out. That may help with the heat issues you're having. Any kind of air movement would be a plus ;)

could it be overwatering/nuting and caring!?

Sweet, cheers for the advice guys. Have a plan in place to get it sorted this week, hopefully we will be back in full health soon. I haven't been adding any nutrients since a bout a week and a half ago when they didn't respond nicely to it at all. I quickly flushed them and no new growth was affect so all was well.

I picked my self up a big roll of mylar recently also, we are looking at covering some large pieces of thin card board using them on the inside of our space. Anyone have experience with the insulation properties of card board?

Yea bro cardboard should do. You can just staple or glue (permanent) the mylar to the board. Think Mylar is like 98% reflective anyways? Not sure exactly, but it should handle the job on its own. We'll prolly end up doing something similar next grow to increase our space ;)

Ok sweet, ill look in to it then. We are basically using the reasonably large wardrobe that is built in to my room. We have built a wooden frame that is roughly 2/3 the width of the entire wardrobe and only about 2m high. So the plan is to put the cardboard up on the sides of this wooden box, that should give us some room to have an intake at the bottom of one side and the exhaust at the top of the other. With a bit of luck the heat should be able to disperse itself from the top of the wardrobe as it is another ~1.5m taller than the box itself. And hopefully we can draw in enough air through the cracks in the doors and me opening it to take a look every now and then.

I also put a larger oscillating fan in there last night to help with circulation, hope that helps the little buggers. They are still growing reasonably well but I would like to see some more improvement of cause. But thanks for the prompt advice guys, big help. Can't wait to see some big purps buds!
