Hey guys, this is my first grow and up until yesterday things were going great finally get the nitrogen deficiency fixed but now the tops of the canopy are yellowing. Temps have been 70-75 at night and 75-80 during the day with humidity around 60%. Today was the first feeding for the bigger gals and they are 26 days old. The one has some markings on the bottom leaves and the other has hole which looks like tears in the top but I have not torn the leaves. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure but I think the yellowing on new growth is too much nutes. I'm a beginner here like you trying to learn.

I must have misunderstood. The yellowing started on lower growth ? Then you fed them ? Then yellowing started on new growth?

None on the old growth had it, all of the yellowing it all started on the newer growth. They haven’t had any nutrients since they seen soil and they are 27 days old except for the smaller three which are 1 week old

Hey man, 8000 people joined this site during quarantine and 90% of them have been asking the same questions over and over ... a little patience and a simple "bump" would have sufficed.

When you say they had a N deficiency but that was "fixed" what do you mean? How did you fix a N deficiency but hadn't fed yet? As the others mentioned, more details would be helpful. Theres a whole slew of things that causes intervenal yellowing unfortunately.

Bottoms leaves were yellowing pretty bad so I transplanted to new fox farm ocean forest and the yellowing hasn’t really progressed through lower canopy. A week after I transplanted the tops started to show some yellowing at the top and was told by the guy at my local hydroponic store and he said they were Henry and to feed them a small amount. PH has been between 6.5-6.6 every watering. The nutes I use are roots organic and have been mixed with store bought distilled water. Here are some pictures I just took.

Distilled water actually isn't great for cannabis, better off just using tap to be honest, at least imo.

FFOF should feed transplanted plants for a few weeks so I'm skeptical the plants needed nutrients that soon after transplant, unless you transplanted to a pot that was barely bigger than your first pot.

I'd check thoroughly for pests. That mechanical looking damage isn't caused by any deficiency I know of. The leaf yellowing could just be residual from the N deficiency. Personally I'd go water only for a week and see how the plant responded but I'm not making any promises that that will help. If you go that route watch the new growth for signs of improvement, the older leaves won't get better.

Maybe someone else will see something I'm missing and pinpoint the issue more specifically.

Okay I’ll have to switch to tap then or get an RO system. I started them in solo cups and two were transplanted into pots not much bigger than the solo. As far as pests go I had yellow sticky cards Hanging from the sides of the tent for two days and not a single things showed up on them. Honestly the yellowing doesn’t look as bad on two of the top but the orange potted blue dream is getting worse. But I’ll give it a try and just use water for a week

I dont think its so much hype as riding on a past reputation... I really feel like FFOF used to be better. It was always kind of overpriced but it was a good product ... last batch I bought because I couldn't get the brand i prefer was awful ... all sticks and bark, didn't buffer pH properly and brought gnats into my grow room.

The sticky pads won't help much with ground bound pests unless you stick them under the canopy. Check the undersides of the leaves visually for any creepy crawlers.

Some strains are just more sensitive than others. Give them some time to settle into their new pots and see if the issue persists. Give us some update pics after a couple days of just water and it will help narrow down the possible issues.

What light are you using by the way?

Its hard to make soil suggestions without knowing what's available to you... I use a local to me brand called Coast of Maine and have had great results. But everyone seems to prefer something different so my best advice is to try a few things and see which you like using the most. FFOF certainly isn't bad, it just doesn't seem as good as it was in the past. I think they got bought by a bigger company or something.
