First Grow

OK first grow and first question.

My mother in-law has stage 4 lung cancer. She lives with my family (wife and son). She has received her medical card for medical marijuana and I for growing.

I am wondering is it possible to grow a plant just like a normal house plant. I mean can I germinate the seed and plant it in a pot then set it over by the other house plants we have in a good light area?

Will this work or is it just going to be a problem.

I would like to keep the grow normal so as my son doesn't ask questions as to why there may be plants growing in a closet or the likes.

Any advise would be appreciated.

that wont work. read up on the grow FAQ,
get yourself a 400w hps light and ballast
some pots,
some soil, store bought though.
Some nutrients.
and some quality seeds.

this will get you started, just do lots of research before you start to grow. I mean LOTS.

Maybe start a little outside gardening next chance and do your seedlings in your grow area (u know, tomatoes start indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost, and so on)
This might help explain things? I told my daughter they were Italian tomato plants.

I think I might say "that's Gramma's medicine" and "you need to stay out of here"

MJ grows so fast. If you live somewhere warm just keep it outside.

Nope won't work, plant seeds indoors in soil plugs under Compact flourescents 1 bulb per plant is a decent start until they are 3-6 weeks old (I'm just going to assume a small budget). Then when like the guy before me said soon as frost breaks start some outside plant them 24-36" apart (they will grow huge outdoors) 5-10 outdoor plants will yield her enough to last one person a while, buy some decent seeds to make it worth her while, dry and cure properly to make it enjoyable to smoke.
Growing outdoors = No electric bill increase

if she has stage 4 cancer she may not have time to spare to wait for a plant mature. do you live in canada? if yes, there are compassionate clubs for medical marijuana use. hopefully you can get her some medicine before then. all the best..

OK. I figured it wouldn't be that simple. I do have a spare bedroom that I could use to grow. I am in the process of reading up on everything. I just figured that most of the "how to" is for optimal yield. I was hoping easy plant and maybe small yield.

Any how. Live in Southern Oregon and we just had our first frost last night so I can't plant out side till spring. I

I currently have a friend that I get her stuff from right now.

Her cancer is stage 4 but over the last 4 month we have had her on an extreme organic diet, and homeopathic regime. As of her last CT scan her cancer has been reduced by 50%. So for what it is worth she has made some progress. The marijuana helps with her apatite a lot and relies her nerves.
