first grow

hi my names rich ,and ive just just got my self an aerogarden classic. 7 I wanted to to get deluxe but im from UK and for some strange reason they only sell classic models. I've also bought a 125 2700k cfl will this be enough light or do I need to get some more? All comments welcomed.

Rich, welcome to RIU. What do you plan to do with the machine? # plants, what type, start to finish or move them out later?

125 cfl would be enough for 1 matbe 2 plants.You still might wnat to add more lights when you start flowering.

question here, when i checked on my germinating seed i notice that the tap root was about 2 1/2 inches long. Problem i ran into is when i drilled a little hole inside the grow sponge i went to place the root in there and it snapped. Will this kill the plant or will it just keep on growing? another question is when do i add nutrients? right now its just plain water in the reservoir. thanks for your help

I would try and save it, next time just wait for the seed to crack and open.

4500 lumens per sq foot is basically the min. light requirement for pot. so id check the lumen out put on your bulb and even then get more light
