MS patient here with my Med Card. Decided that I would try to grow a small amount for personal use only. Once I get a couple grows under my belt I will be looking to grow a high cbd strain. I was going to try White Widow because I hear it is a good bed time smoke which is when I have the most problems with my MS, spasms keep me up, etc.
Kind of scatter brained with all of the research I've been doing over the last 2 months and I'm low on sleep atm. So I will kind of throw some quick notes out there, they may not be fully detailed but I will fill in the gaps later.
My setup just to get my toes wet:
~Modified refrigerator (might post pics later)
~Made a 6 bulb CFL light using 23w 6400k bulbs for veg currently, will switch to 2700k for flowering.
~Blower fan installed in the freezer portion exhausting air threw a homemade activated carbon filter (quilt batting, activated carbon pellets, screen, etc)
~Free unknown strain seeds (expecting to botch the crop). I have 10 white widow feminized seeds waiting for my second grow.
~Using square 1 gallon pots, height is an issue in my box so they should suffice for 1.5 ft or less plants. (the goal once I know what I'm doing will be to do small SOG)
~Using ReadyGro "soil" (Will not use again for soil growing, this is meant for hydro)
~Hydroton balls on top to keep the top of the soil damp. I've read that this will allow the plants to use the top inches of soil for root growth.
>Warning: Bending/tapping your seedlings with hydroton balls will hurt the base of the plant. I found that out the hard way.
So far I've had a lot of fun :/ At first I was anyway. I'm about 20 days into the grow and already saw some rust colored dots on my leaves. Believe it is dreaded herp (spider mites). Lots of learning going on (slight burn to the leaves because I sprayed with neem oil at the beginning of my plants day). Also believe I was not giving my plants enough nutes.
Some pics:
Eggs on leaves from spider mites? Possibly badly mixed neem oil? I noticed them the day after I sprayed my plants with neem oil at the beginning of the day cycle (dumb) The picture is of the top of a fan leaf and all of my plants have similar on top of the leaves. (Used my 420 Handheld Microscope/Phone Camera)
Some group photos, I've been taking daily's of each individually too if you want a closer look at one let me know which number. Note: 3 of the RootRiot Coco pots I put my germinated seeds in didn't grow. I took them apart after a while and the tap roots had rotted (I dropped a couple while putting them into the RRCP's, not MS related just trying not to squeeze too hard with the tweezers)
