First harvest fluffy buds

so ive just harvested my first plant, i planted 2 x Lowryder #2 autos, 1 x Humboldt & 1 x Northern lights, they were grown under a 250w hps in soil with dutchpro take root & flower nutes, i topped the nl and humboldt at 3 weeks with the intention of vegging them until the lowryders were harvested and i could flip the cycle to 12/12 all has been going well but i had to harvest one of the low ryders about 5 - 7days early as i was relocating them to a larger grow area and i didnt feel the 250w hps was providing sufficent lumens to all 4 plants,
im very happy purely because i have technically grown my own weed but the buds are fluffy and loose which i have put down to the fact that a] there harvested early and b] lack of lumens, i have hung them dry for only 3 days and there starting to feel crispy so ive started curing them.
so based on this info i was wondering if you'd be able to sort out some of these issues for me as its my first grow and quite a steep learning curve. ive got far too many questions for this one thread so any feedback is much appreciated.

I had the same issue my very first grow buds looked bad ass but I learned that fluffy buds are from too much heat and lack of air movement in your grow space. Gotta have fans and cool air circulating through there.

i didnt know a little fan was so important, ive got a 4" inline with rhino filter but nothing in grow space to move air
That's part of your issue - get a small oscillating fan or two in there to move those ladies.
And the results of a 600 watt light in your space will blow your mind !

ah see there was me thinking i knew it all on my first grow, so many flaws in my method, i really appreciate all the advice, thanks

is that a fact my main concern was rise in temps is there a big difference? cause i was seriously considering getting a bigger light
Just by looking at your avatar your sugar leaves look to be "clawed" either from high temps or over nuteing... For your space a 600 is fine you just need to put some osculating fans in there. Greatwhite is correct

these are the last pics a day or two before she was harvested, it took me such along time to stabalize all the humidity temp etc through trial and error that im surprised they survived at all but im not dissapointed as its my first grow and im sure the following ones will be better for it, there sacrifice will not be in vain, lol

You didnt do a bad job dude everything would have been perfect if you had some more air going in that room, I learned my lesson. Don't get discouraged dude I dont care what anyone says it takes a few harvests to get real good. Trial and error my dude is the best way to learn.

Not to dispute what anyone else is saying, they are right. Just want to add in, keep in mind this isnt commercial bud either. Try to think of all the handling commercial bud goes through from the time its grown packaged delivered/delivered/delivered etc... First guys weights it up, breaks it down, repackaged sends out, next guy weighs it up and breaks it down and repackages, etc. etc.

Take a small bud, wrap it up in cigarette pack plastic, put it inside the cigarette pack and leave it in your car for the day. When you take it out, it will be a rolled up, tight, hard bud that looks exactly like what you pay 20 bucks for.

Not saying you dont have fluffy, airy buds due to the reasons above. But even nice tight buds, fresh from the grow dont look like what you get out of the gram bag from dude on the street.

havent had a chance to weigh it ive got some scales somewhere buts its just one more thing i was unsure about, wet/dry with stems/without when and how do i accurately measure weight?
After a proper trim and cure.
Prep it as if You were going to buy it & then weigh.

like greatwhitenorth says get a oscilating fan and a 600 watt hps and here is the diference !!!!
buds are solid, the cola wieghed 51.4 grammes when chopped so shud got half ounce plus of the cola alone, hope to get 3 dry ouces of the one plant,, like a sed under a 600 hps in tent with oscilating fan with intake n outake via carbon filter !!! peace out +rep for a gr8 grow using just a 250 hps !!!!!

what i do is trim as much as poss first go round get them hung up to dry, once dry i trim away most of the stems and jar it up, once cured i wiegh it and thats my finished smokable wieght ! for instance u loose around 60/70% of its wieght in a few days, more denser nugs may loose 60% more airy buds a bit more anythink upto 80% from my own personal experience, from the look of my latest bud i estimate roughly 65% loss of moisture so when i wieghed my cola it come in at 51.4 grammes ( wet ) take away 60/70% and thats what roughly will b left to smoke wieght wise minus a gramme or 2 for the cure ! 3 quarters of a ounce from the cola alone so my plant may yield 3 ounces dry ( hopefully, lol ) peace out man, and happy growing !!!!

3 quarters of a ounce from the cola alone so my plant may yield 3 ounces dry
thats the dream right there, hopefully ill look back on the picture of my little fluffy lowryder bud and laugh in a year, hopefully while smokin buds the size of my fist and dense as a rock lol, thanks again for all the advice and +rep its greatly appreciated, and although the thread will prob be long dead ill post weight in a couple of weeks for anyone whos interested. now im gonna go smoke a little crispy uncured nug and marvel at what can come out of the ground;-)
