First hydro grow

Hey everyone I'm doing my first hydro grow I'm doing a dwc set up with 4 clones. In 2 10 gallon tubs. They were originally blue and I painted them white. I started in a 30 gallon that was black an I couldn't control the temp inside so today I went and got this maybe it will help( I hope). I'm using a 400w Hps light would use mh but couldn't afford both. I plan on doing a scrog grow. I'm using cyco grow nutes with hydroton medium. The questions I'm having with this set up is if my water temp is still high after I transfer to white tubs how can I control it better without lots of money. And how far away should I keep my light from my babies? Any input at all would be appreciated thanks : )

water chillers is a must have if you cant control your temps. without control you need to ditch the water and go to soil unitl you can get your temps under control. root rot and pests are no way to grow the 'dro.

chiller is a must, so is a ph meter, good nutes, humidity control
decent lights

got all that go hydro

then you can add a co2 generator

I have everything at good control but the water temp really room temp is 75 humidity is 55 - 48 depending. I just thing my water if backing in my black tubs. So when this paint is cured I will see if it makes a difference. I'm keeping the temps down n

Well the black tub I am using now is hot on the outside from my light. And the water inside is as hot as the outside. So I got new tubs an painted them white. To reflect more light hopefully making my water temp cooler

all you need is frozen water bottles. i did them for years before i got a chiler and never a problem. the key is to break the heat cycle, just add a couple of frozen 2 liter bottles once a day.

Ok so it's been 12 hours sence my plants have been in the new resiviors an the water temp has been a steady 66 so that's alot better than it was. Ill figure out how to post pics up tonight. Also one of my clones seems to be falling behind my other pretty far I'm not sure if she's in shock or what but her leads a lightening a little an kinda droopy. Not seeing this on any other clone exept for one that had an unfortunate tip over accident.( got nute solution on leafs.) : / but other than that so far so good. I'm curious about where my water should be right now though. I have it about an inch above the net pots right now an my roots havnt made it through the net pots. Should I lower the water or wait untill I see roots?

Hey everyone so here are some pics of the plans as you can see one of them looks like poo(the one I tipped over) I was wondering if anyone thinks my leafs are too droopy.

I'd say just wait it out until your roots will reach the water and then the plant will explode with growth. Don't over think it and keep it simple!

figured i'd chime in. like me, you are probably seeing some weird things by now with your plant. throw the nutrients in the garbage. this stuff is sooo toxic when used in recirculating/aerated environments. there is freegin urea (urine) in this mix. i figured id give it a try because i got the box for free. look bud, ive grown for over 20 years hydroponically and these plants look weird. something with this stuff just aint right....
