First Indoor Experiment

Hey guys. I've had a few outdoor runs and finally have a place where I can grow. I've only got a 150w HPS as of now. I had more seedlings but all were mutated for some strange reason. These 5 are the ones I chose from the lot.

I'm growing in Fox Farms Ocean Forest covered in sand to protect against intruders. I've given no nutrients so far and watered until now with distilled water. They are 3- 4 weeks old.I noticed what looked like pH lockup IMG_20150309_174308.jpg but have no tester YET so I used some white vinegar and some water fortified with calcium and potassium but it had a listed pH of 9.5(some new fitness water) so I used a cap of vinegar per liter of water. Any tips, hints, or ideas?

you need a ph tester .... Period .

if there's allready nutes in your soil then you need to flush with fresh water and start again ..... But you need a ph tester

if you soil has no nutes in then they need feeding ....... But you'll still need a ph tester to check your nute solution :)

you need a ph tester !!!

Ya id say get a ph tester or just a drop kit for like six bucks. Ive had my drop kit for three years and its still more accurate than all my fancy dodads for testing ph. You dont really need to ph balance your water in soil unless your water is way off. The stuff your seeing is most likely just the leaves dying from the cloneing process. The tips yellow and die back a bit sometimes. Not to worry, dont go throwing a bunch of crap in there trying to fix a problem thats not there. Hang in there, dont over water, and dont freak out. Theyll be fine.

IMG_20150309_174100.jpg Thanks guys. I heard this soil can be too rich for seedlings so my watering was a flush today. I know pH is the biggest culprit for deficiency symptoms and understand how important it is I just haven't been able to get to my local hydroshop before they close. Thanks for the replies!
