3 week old Kaya Gold plant indoor grow. Using 6 23w CFL's that are on 18/6. Constant airflow and the temp is around 78 when the lights are on and 72 when off. The bottom 2 leaves started yellowing 3 days ago. Any ideas why? I use fox farm nutrient trio fertilizer. Plant is still in seed starting mix but with extra perlite(I love the seed starting mix soil because it has no added fertilizers and is very light). Also, the plant seems short. Should I move the lights higher up so it can stretch more? The lights are about 3-4 inches away. Cheers!

Short bushy plants are good. They will yield more dense buds. Stretchy plants yield fluffy popcorn. The yellowing leaves is nitrogen deficiency, but if it's only the bottom single-bladed leaves, you should be fine. Its normal for those to yellow and die. If it starts going further up the plant, then up your nute dosage. Some strains are nute whores.

Jesus... I haven't strolled around the "problems" section in quite some time... What a shit show this is... terrible advice all over the place.

I recommend all posters run... Call your county ag extension office... get on a non mj forum... just don't look for advice here.

OP... the rest of your plant looks pretty well fed... it is kinda hard to tell from the lighting.
From what I can see, it looks like the yellow leaf is heavily shaded and the plant is preparing to drop it from the plant as it is not really using it..
Looks fine to me.

Don't overfeed and you should be fine.
