First indoor grow journal and pics. Cfl's and dirt cheap!!

I started this plant for the hell of it with a bagseed. When it actually started growing I decided to do a little research. Which is how I ended up here! I want to thank you all right away, this place has been a treasure trove of knowledge!! You guys rock!
I started this plant in the windowsill and I think to begin with I did everything wrong, over watering and over trimming. Thats why it is all spindly I imagine. So after it got to about an inch below the height it is now, I decided to go 12/12 and sex it. Im on day 3 of flowering, still no sign of sex.
Im using 5x13w 2700k cfls for lighting, my medium is Hyponex potting soil. (its what i had around, as is everything else)
Its made of hypnum peat, compost, sand and perlite.
Ive used miracle grow randomly and have just started adding molasses to my waterings.
This plant has been through hell and back, but its still alive. Some kind of bug got at the bottom two sets of nodes, which is why they are cut off, ate the hell out of my fan leaves so I cut them to cut my losses. Really didnt expect the plant to live.
All info is welcome, and I plan to keep you all updated with pics and journal entries. I planted 3 pre germinated seeds yesterday, so even if this plant ends up a loss I will have learned for those 3. Also I figure I can start learning to clone from this plant if its not saveable.

Yeah it looks pretty good for just a random bagseed that you decided to grow. Props to you on that.
Like you said, you can certainly clone from it it you so desire, especially if the weed it came from was a decent enough smoke.
Try bending the stems a bit, and get a fan blowing on there, it'll help make your plant stronger.

I just started putting my window fan in there 3 days ago on a 24/7 basis. Before that I just randomly would turn it on. This plant is approximately 2 months old, give or take a week. I had been over watering it so I think that is why the growth stunted and I got some spotting on the leaves. Ive decided to let the dirt dry to the point of crumbling, say to my second knuckle? Im hoping this will reinvigorate the plant some. Its been damn humid the last few days where Im at and now I wish I had a humidity and thermometer gauge in there. lol But as I said, this is just kind of winging it, and Im broke as a joke at the moment. Im going to invest in some more lights and other essentials when its time to flower my 3 seedlings.

Found a site with cheap cfls. If anyone finds any cheaper let me know asap, please and thank you!

Here's that same 40w 2700k bulb for $5 each and that's shipped! Best price I've ever seen, I stocked up. Amazon also has 42w 6500 but not that cheap

All three of my seeds sprouted last night. Got some good growth on 2 of them already! Sweet! Sorry the pics are blurry, Im having to use my webcam to take the pics, ill get a camera soon. The one on the right just broke ground a little while ago and the one on the left is a little shorter than the middle one. Speaking of the middle one, it came out with three "sun" leaves and 3 fan leaves. Is this common? Odd? What do you guys think that means. (personally it gives it some character in my opinion) lol.

Not saying that ur doing anything wrong but i personally like to keep the fan on only when the lights are on cuz the plants only need a fresh supply of Co2 when photosynthesis is happening (lights are on) and since you are in flowering you are allready pushing the heck out of it so id say let the little one rest during the "night"

So Ive got my 3 seedlings on a 18/6 schedule now, dont know what Im going to do once they start getting bigger, I really dont have the lighting for it. Hopefully my plant shows sex soon so I know whether or not to keep it. The seedlings are really taking off, theyve grown an inch today and the one with the 3 sun leaves (baby leaves) or whatever you want to call them, is taller than the other 2. Im still surprised how it came out with 3 sun leaves and 3 top leaves. Anyone know anything about this??

Here is what Ive found out so far...

Having a triploid plant is actually rather beneficial because the extra set of chromosomes causes cells to become larger in response to the mutation (autopolyploidy). Because of this flowers and fruits of plants become larger in size, meaning if you have a triploid plant on your hands you are rather lucky because the resin glands on the flowers will be larger, as will the flower itself.

With three branches arising from the same spot. (Should happen)

Having three sets of chromosomes. (Should happen as well)

Dont worry about lighting too much yet, just get some cheap CFLs to start with.
You can expand as time goes on. Just remember, marijuana is called weed for a reason, and although it is possible to mess up real bad and maybe lower your yield, the plant will still usually live on. Dont overwater and dont go crazy with the nutes.

Well, I started lst last night. I know I know, should have done it during veg, but Im only now on day five of 12-12 so I think it will be fine. I wanted to get some of the other growth moving, also experiment a little. The plant really took to it. I tied it down for the first time right before lights out, and in the morning the top was already tuned back to the lights(even tho they werent on). I tied back some branches to get more light to the growth at the nodes and it has really helped. Also, I still havent watered it, in 2 days, soil is dry and crumbly on top, but if I go down a half inch its still moist, so I figure Ill give it another day. Feed her before bedtime tomorrow I think..? I boiled an eggshell in water and am thinking of using that to help out with the spotting on my leaves. Not sure if thats exactly what I need to do, but its what Ive gathered from pointers and reading. Ill give it pure water the feeding after and molasses water the feeding after that. Trial and error, since this is a new plant.

I hate when you wanna feed or see your littles but the lights are out. Haha i think i might have to buy one of those overpriced green cfl's. Word dude, ill definitely be hitting up this thread in the morning
