first indoor grow Questions??

I would like to attempt to grow indoors. I have grown outdoors once. I was wondering if it would be possible to grow in my attic. I live in a climate where it gets cold in the winter. Any way of keeping it warm enough in there? Would it be possibe to block an area off in the attic making it easier to heat? My only other option is a small closet or the laundry room. I didnt know if the two could work in the same room. I am only talking about 2-4 plants max. If the closet is my only option what is the best light to use in an area like a closet? And the best way to venilate an area like that? This will be a big test but just the challenge of my first outdoor grow has me exited to try indoors. Thanks for any help!!

You seem to have some restrictions. I know someone who has grown in an attic. If it gets cold.. consider that instead of investing in ways to heat the thing you will get more life out of your bulb and ballast because they'll be kept cool. Now, you can be sure that they will supplement some sort of heat. (we can work w/this more if you decide to do it)
For a confined closet, the use of flourescent lighting is recommended. I have seen AMAZING results during veg from flourescent lighting in confined spaces. :) I have used 4ft T12 tubes/fixtures @ 40w warm white, but.. I've seen lots of these pics from CFLs as of late and am shocked at what they can do. It's a shocker.

I'm no expert but the lighting that you use should keep it heated just fine assuming you are going to be using MH or HPS, I use CFL's and if it starts to get to cold come winter I'm thinking on a heat light or two, depending on how cold it gets.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you only have to keep the plants warm.
