Hey all, update time! 12 plants alive still. I think I overwatered 2 of them slightly because they seem stunted, so I went and set myself up a dwc in one of my 5 gal butckets. I threw one of the runts into a sliced n diced yogurt cup and widdled out a hole for it in the lid. I shit you not the roots were growing for the water in about 20 hours and the plant started looking a lot better. I couldn't get ALL of the dirt off the root ball but most of it came off and the moisture is wicking up into the peatcup I tore into pieces to use as my hydroton until my ebay order of netcups and hdroton and rockwool get here. I also ordered some more nutes because I have no idea how long Botanicares free 16$ sample will take to get here. I want to get a ppm tester but am sketched about ordering something so fragile because I worked at UPS and they just throw your packages like they don't give a fuck( I got let go after asking about the harsh handling of peoples goods). So Ive checked Lowes,Menards,Walmart,and meijers but no luck, not even digital ph meters. If anybody knows of any types of stores that might carry meters feel free to let me know. New pics will be taken when the net cups and hydroton get here.
Hello, this is my first grow in my closet. Soil Grow. 2 fluorescent lights 18"&24" started me off. I then purchased a 6" fan, 1 7500k 100w CFL, 3 2700k 100w CFL, 4 6500k 75w CFL. I've been using a small amount of 15-30-15 plant/tomato food in distilled water + a few drops of lemon juice since distilled water is completely neutral on the pH scale. Buckets are on the shopping list for tomorrow since they somehow slipped my mind today even though I had a huge bag of soil in the shopping cart. Once they are all transplanted and situated I will be getting more lighting, still unsure of what I will get, and if they survive long enough I will attempt an install of a proper ventilation system.
