first indoor grow

just picked up my light 400 w hps, have a 2x2x4 box cause i couldnt go any bigger just didn;t have the space in my apartement.4 unknown seeds, (more than likely g bush or papaya)they were going around, ice clone ( not healthy) hopefully it survives, THIS IS MY FIRST TIME GROWING INDOORS any suggestions welcome, i grew outdoors a few seasons but never used any fertilizers just supersoil and water.

even with 4 ft of room to grow up i know i am supposed to keep my light 2 feet up so it will grow 14 inches during flowering?

with my outdoor plants that have finished over the last couple years once they went into flower they stopped growing taller, grew a little bit bushier then flowered out decent

expect your plant to double or more in height when growing indoors and switchinh to 12/12. Taking into account that your light (and reflector) is at least 6 inches in depth and you havent got it plush against the ceiling you have lost a foot of your rooms height already. Then you want to take into account how high your pot/flood tray/whatever you are using to grow in is another 6inches minimum then you dont have much room left. Hence my advice to veg to no more than 10 inches.

i have my light on top of my box with a hole cut out for my reflector to set on, so all i lose is the pot size which are about 8 inches tall

i am open to suggestions , i am new to the indoor grow , and am relativly new to growing at all, so a ten inch plant will double, leaving me with a 20 inch plant , i figured i would be able to go to an 18 inch plant but if that doubles it puts me at 3 feet with leaves me to close to the lights to finish

just for the record, I am dealing in facts with you not 'suggestions' I have grown indoors with only 5ft of height for the past 3 years and 18 years indoors in total. I gave you my experience and you seem to doubt it so like I said, do what you feel is best. If you veg them to any more than 1ft you will be on here in 4 or 5 weeks asking about lst'ing plants in flower...

so is every strain indoors, doubles during flowering or close to it? so how many plants can i put it my little box then maybe i can put more i have 5 now but i have a little space in the bottom of my box for one or 2 more pots, and my seeds may go male , i wont know till they show sex
