First Indoor Grow

Ya I really enjoy moving my plants around , my new space will be big enough that I can walk around them, even under them if I decide to grow trees lol.

But if I were to go the scrog route, I think I would try the hangers and attach some ties to the poles to keep it stationary
They make pipe clamps that have various attachments or fittings. Heck, something to clamp on bicycle handlebars would work.

I hate the plant being stationary. I rotate mine all the time, and can easily water, prune, etc.

Kind of my fear with the scrog. Even though I made it, I am still not set that I am going to use it, though I probably won't mainline either. Probably just lots of LST/bending, keeping it low, and let it flower naturally. Would just like the ability to move the plant if need be, or as you say, rotate it around, etc.

Also, for the sake of not creating 2 posts, attached are todays pictures.

Thanks. I am trying. The plant is by no means perfect, but it is growing quickly now it seems.

Is there anything such as a perfect plant? ;-) I think it's all how you see your work and your creation. Right now I'm also doing a first deep water culture grow and learning how to get it right.

Kind of my fear with the scrog.
I don't like posting pics on other peoples thread, but this is from my 2nd grow. The contraption I put together had a funnel caulked to the bottom if the cafeteria tray for drainage, wheels, and a slightly adjustable net. It was the beginnings of a plan - before mainlining.
IMG_0776.JPG
I also didn't 'tuck' because I figured that would be a pain at harvest, so I started by super-cropping all the shoots (pinching and bending them) then used twist ties to hold them to the net. I had a crappy 300w LED, added 8 CFL's in flower, and it did ok This was before harvest with the net removed

You can see the pvc/double-cfl rigs I made ;)

Day 29 – Plant was given 1 gallon of water, that went to runoff. I was able to use the pH kit to see that the water going in was near 6.5, but between 6.0 and 6.5 (only the drops kit), and the runoff was also measured, to be slightly closer to 6.0 than the water going in, but the coloring wasn’t off by much, so it is close.

And finally got some binder clips, and tried to pull a few branches down/out to hopefully start the bushiness, and open up for more light.

So, wanted to put a closer image of the topped area of the plant, and then ask a question about the 2nd pic. The areas labeled 1&2 are the new shoots from topping, they are expected, but 3&4 are from like one node below the top, and seem to have shot to near the level of the new colas. What are the chances they will actually develop into a 3rd and 4th cola? Wasn't sure if they would do that and continue up, or kind of branch out.

Not much for the updating, but there really isn't anything going on. Just watering every 3-5 days, and now doing some pulling of branches (amazing how quickly they go vertical towards the light, even when you have the new growth pointed horizontal).

I have a 3'x3' tent with this one plant. How big can I let it go before flipping? I have a vacation the last week of March, so I can't have it finish then, so I know I was going to do at least 10-14 more days, so that the end of March would only be ~week 6 of flower.

Watered/fed yesterday, trained (adjusted strings, pulled a bit more, cleaned one or two leaves that wouldn't really tuck, and were covering lots of small new growth) today.

Just over 5 hours since I adjusted the strings/training, and all shoots are back upright. Still amazes me how quickly it will grow towards the light after training.

I have decided to scrog this go, in the end. I figure I will try other methods later, and may be unlikely to go back to a scrog if I don't try it the first time.

I think first pistil development started around day 67ish, about 12 days after cycle change. This brings up to date, with day 70 being yesterday 3.14.19, since my lights turn on at 10p.
