How can I tell the difference? It is shiny a bit. I licked it. No taste. lol

Its purged by now..
Because it can be tricky to tell if its fully evapped you should leave it as a thin film in your croc pot or Pyrex whatever, before collecting and scraping.. once it looks completely dry (should be around 18 hrs depending on how much heat you used and surface area, I do no heat) you should then let it sit another 4 hrs or even overnight. That will get rid of any doubt
Just remember it will purge at a similar rate as regular water, you can keep that as a time reference

Well I was planning on limiting the males interaction with the female. Like let him polinate her in early flowering and then take him out to the farm if you catch my drift.
Figure 20-30 seeds would be good and use the spent pods for hash. Once I notice seeds forming I will spray everything in the tent down and let her produce some reg nugs as well.

i to use parchment paper to press and store mine in. then the folded parchment paper goes into a jar.
i use 99% iso and have the larf bud or trim in a metal coffee filter inside a tea strainer. then i will pour the iso over that into a wide mouthed mason jar. then i move the filter system w the product inside to another wide mouth jar and pour the already poured alcohol through it again. i normally do this 3-5 times depending on how cold things stay. then with the golden iso i filter that through a coffee filter twice and then pour onto pyrex to dry. i wait for it to completely dry before trying to scrape and i do not use heat.
with the leftover material that i used to pour over, i will usually put that into a mason jar then shake the shit out of it for 30sec and then start to filter, once w the metal to get the plant material seperated asap, then with the coffee filters. so 2 washes altogether. i pour my 2nd wash into a 2nd pyrex and just wait for it to evaporate. at this point i toss any left over plant material, although i could probably do a 3rd wash if i really wanted. ill try to get some pics up soon. its a hassle to get them off my phone to laptop for upload.
ive found when i try to use heat to evaporate i will end up with a sappy substance or shatter that will turn to budder or wax within a few days. i just let it airdry completely and i end up with beautiful crystal flakes a normally press into shatter. sometimes i will leave it unpressed if i want to use it for "sprinkles" over a bowl. its cool watching the hash that isnt pressed melt away to nothing

forget about the hot plates and water baths, ive used seedling heat mats to try to speed up my evap before. it did work, evap'd much quicker, but my end product was still kinda funky even after i let it cool
when i explain or show people my process i explain that depending on how deep the iso is in the pyrex, the longer itll take. and i explain that this is a few day process if you really want good concentrate. my next step is using a much larger pyrex dish so that there is a larger surface area. hopefully this will speed things up a little for me. either way, remember patience is a virtue

I have to say... i did a slow evap. the product came out like sand.
I'm sure it was cleaner.. higher purity.. but i enjoy the goop more by the taste and effect.
I did like the solid state of the sand though.
The goop tastes fucking amazing. It's got this caramel thing going.. more flavor than the sand. I also enjoyed wrapping up the whole hash making process in less than one day. After a couple batches, I'm a fan of the 2 minute wash and hot bath evap. More tasty mind-bending hash in less time, using the same amount of buds.
I'll have to try out the super quick wash and slow evap again though. I feel like the sand had less body effect. That could have been the herb though.. i'll have to play more. I think I would better enjoy the sand pressed.. but would trying to press it just turn it to goo? I suspect that would be the case.
It's cool to take it to the edge of absolute pureness and all, but, buds themselves are pretty damn good.

I meant to try sprinkling some into a joint.. fresh but worked bubble always did well for joints. The sprinkles would do well too though. Gotta try it..

I used heat to evap and then again to whip this nice little Girl Scout Cookies wax patty, that tastes mmmm mmmm good...
I really like the texture. Easy to work with. The color has actually lightened up a bit after a few days curing since I took this pic.
