So i have some type of ph issue today..a few bottom fans on a couple plants look burnt.
I haven't added any nutes yet so my ph in my storage container must have dropped to low - another lesson learned..(always test water before using)
So I added the nutes to the H20 barrell tonight and the ph was 4.8 --way to low
I f$#ked up because I didn't test it before I added the nutes--so I am not sure what it was before..good news is I am going to get some ph up tomorrow before watering the plants.

I used 50% of the recommended nutes mix and the ppm's is 198. I will be correcting the ph before anything else goes to the plants.

Awesome setup! Very clean! Way to do it right the first time..wish i had that kinda money to spend on my first setup but i'm slowly adding to it.

That is for sure a PH issue. Correct PH and give a good watering and im sure you'll see improvements.

Alsooo, just a suggestion. With those big 1000w MH bulbs I would suggest raising the hoods a little. 1000w is very bright on plants that young. i start my hoods at like 24+ inches away from fresh clones, aftering being in 16oz cups under T5.

The T5 gives them a good jump start. It really lets them root well in the cups and form very compact sets of nodes, giving them a good base to branch off from.

Keep up the good work ill be stopping by

So I went ahead and got a light mover..I had a couple outside plants leaning toward the light..So I re-arranged the plants so they all are happy.
I also put down some sticky tabs to see if there are any bugs I need to worry about.
I gave them their first taste of nutes last night..I mixed it at 1/2 the rec.

I do..I have milar and I have white plastic over the door..I basically taped thick plastic (white on one side black on the other) around the door..white side in and put a zipper in the middle of the door opening. So basically after opening the door I unzip the plastic..
But to answer your question, yes I do have reflective milar on all the walls..

I am going out of town for 2 days ( flying to NY to watch the Raider/Giants game)and left my wife in charge.. I would be lying if I said I wan't a little nervious..I'll update when I get back

I would be nervous too..... she has a decent understanding of growing.... but little practical experience..... should be fine I imagine..... it aint rocket science ;)..... its plant science :P

Day 9 under HID MH
I was gone for three days and I water good before I left and they were fine till today..mostly dry on top, but still slightly moist underneath. I watered ~3 gal per pot.until the water came out of the bottom of the smart pots.
They appear to be over the stress from the change in medium and envirement.
I decided that I am going to add another passive vent as I can tell that there is some suction in there.

Looking great.

I still suggest moving that light up a little though :)

What nutrients are you using?? The light green on the new growth looks like an Iron deficiency to me.

I am using H&G A,B..
I did move the lights up a bit after I took those last shots..they are 12" from the plants now..I get different advice from growers on the light distance..some say if there is no heat issues the lights should be as close as possible..some say 18" some say12"or 10"..It is confusing..I am trying to let the plants tell me what they like... they don't talk much though..lol

Although I am a strong believer in keeping the lights as close to the plants as possible, I think this only applies in flower.

Throughout veg, I like to keep the lights a distance in which

A) The temperatures are correct
B) The internodes are compact
C) Gives the plant room to "breathe", internode spacing isnt TOO tight.

I think moving the hood away in your scenario would promote a little better inner-node spacing. In my opinion, a plant that grows with nodes packed TOO tightly, is more prone to problems like Powdery Mildew, because the insane amount of humidity WITHIN the plant itself.

I like to get a proper balance of good inner node spacing. Not to tight, not too stretchy.

1/2 inch seems to be about what I usually shoot for.

Those 1000watts are pretty intense. If that isn't an iron deficiency the plants could possibly be getting light-bleached.

Here are some pictures of my plants, vegged under a 400w MH.

The first picture is vegged for about 16 days, with absolutely no supercropping/topping/abuse done.

The second picture is a different strain vegged for about 17 days, with INTENSE supercropping/bending/snapping/abuse. This plant in particular started out very weak with dried up roots. It took awhile to take off.

I think it is the lights..I was gone for three days and when I got home they had stretched quite a bit and were about 8" from the lights, I moved the light to 12" now.
I was originally going to top them, but have decided not to on my first grow. Most of them are already pretty squaty.
Your plants look great man. How long do you usually veg for? I am thinking about going another 10 days (20 total) and go 20/4 for 3 days then go to 12/12.
