First Medi-Legal Grow: CFLs, Homebox XS, and much more!

First medi-legal grow using CFLs, a Homebox XS, Diesel Ryder regular seeds, and Advanced Nutrients Iguana Juice Bloom and Bud Candy.

My thanks, first, to every1 who has inspired me with their posts and reports on Rollitup. And of course, a big Thank You to The Grow Bible!

Hopefully I figure out how to post pictures on here without too much trouble. This first set sort of gives the community a look at how I am doing things.

Since taking these pictures I have had to kill one of the plants, because it looked like it was sprouting balls. No males are wanted for this grow. This pre-flowering stage is sort of nerve-wrecking not having feminized seeds. "But the band keeps playing on."

Seedlings were placed in starter cubes after germination popped 6 out of 10 seeds. They were soon transplanted into the small square containers, which were filled with FF Ocean Forest soil.

A 125W veg-spectrum CFL was the primary light source for the first two weeks. Now the plants are under two 125W CFLs, one 6500k, the other 2700K.

A CAN FAN is pulling air through an activated carbon filter out the top of the Hombebox XS. Temps and RH are being monitored closely. This is my first medical crop, so I'm learning more and more each day.

Clean little turnkey setup and some happy looking seedlings. Ask questions and read til yer eyes bleed. Good luck and dense nugs!

I had to kill two more males. One was totally sprouting balls. The other looked like it was developing nuts, so I wasn't taking any chances.

Three more left out of the original six (or ten). Pretty sure I noticed one of the plants poke out her first set of lil pistils. Very excited!

Great looking set-up. But I have to agree, there is no chance that plants that young will show sex!
If you see any more balls, take a pic and post it here before you throw it away!

Yeah, gotta say, I've never heard of that happening before.

I'm interested to see what you think of the Iguana as I have a friend who SWEARS by it. I think they're nuts to do the organic stuff, but eh, maybe that's just me.

Show us a pic if you got males again - this might be a first in my experience - and it's not even me doing the grow.

What are the temps like in your setup? You seem to be off to a great start, a lot better than i was my first grow, cheers to that.

I don't think those plants will be showing sex yet brother, i think what you seen was new growth or new nodes popping up, this also confused me on my first grow as i thought it was the pollen sacks the males produce. What will the configuration be like when the plants get a bigger, do you have plans for more light and better heat extraction if necessary??

subscribed! I'm looking to purchase the same homebox xs. I want to get a jump start on the outdoor season with this setup in the next couple months. I'm not sure what light to buy yet but i will follow this to see how your grow is going. Please try to use a lot of photos it helps. I'm curious on how to set up my light and fan/filter. Whats temps are you getting with your setup? also are you going with 24 hours of light?

I'm almost 100% sure I was right in identifying males at this stage in the grow. From what I've read, male autoflowers show pre-flowering sex around day 17, and females should by day 21. These dates were almost EXACT for my little plants

Also, the pre-flowering "sacks" that I singled out have not appeared ANYWHERE on the three girls I have left under the lights (I had to do some more killing). Believe me, if I thought for a second one of those plants could have been a lady in my garden, I would have waited and waited. I just knew they were dudes after reading and re-reading the information that's available, and being with them everyday these first weeks

I totally sucked ass not taking pictures of the males. But I will have more pics of the garden up this weekend. I've started my Advanced Nutrients, and the plants have really responded! Hope you guys/ladies stay tuned in...because I love sharing with you

Pictures were taken early this morning after watering. You can see the three remaining ladies under their two 125W 2700k bulbs. I decided to switch from one 6500k and one 2700k, to two 2700k

Pistils are shooting up on the plants to start forming nice little bud sites. Very excited

Their light schedule is 20-4. Surfing ROLLITUP convinced me to stick with this schedule, which will give the plants 14 hours more light per week than if I went with 18-6. Common sense I guess.

Seems like good work! I'm a little confused though, you are using two 125w 2700k lights? What are you going to change for the flowering stage? Switch both those bulbs out for the 6500k bulbs? Please show me a picture of the lights and where you bought them from as well.

Plants are growing strong
The ladies are one month old and filling up the Homebox XS nicely. I've done some light stress training to open the buds up to more of the light. Still learning each day.
